MacRumors community, Recently purchased an Apple TV a few months ago and absolutely LOVE IT. It is hard to imagine life without it now. A few months ago before I purchased it, I ripped a few TV on DVD seasons onto my computer (Arrested Development, Entourage and HIMYM complete seasons). I tagged them all manually, and they look okay within iTunes, but when I open them up in my Apple TV the episode numbers are all off, they are missing ratings, descriptions, etc and my OCDness tells me I must fix this ASAP I used MetaX to tag all my ripped movies and they look great - its impossible to tell the difference between a movie I purchased in iTunes and a movie I ripped and tagged with MetaX Is there a solution for TV shows? Thank you! ...

There is an interesting FoI response up on WhatDoTheyKnow? The request was to see what documents there were relating to plans to put RFID tags in bank notes . The response is that there is too much to give within the prescribed cost limits for a request, from which we can presumably conclude that plans are at a relatively advanced stage. The civil liberties implications of this will very much depend on the range of the particular tags used. Could we have government detector vans driving round the streets looking for stashes of cash? Will the police know how much cash I have in my pocket? We need to know. ...

Graffiti and tagging is a huge problem across L.A. County, and a full time job for hundreds of people. We went on a ride-along with Eulogio from Pacific Graffiti Solutions, and spoke to the CEO, Yvette Neal about the problem. We saw how the non-profit contractor for the City removes the Graffiti, using chemicals, paint, and a high-pressure sand blaster. L.A. City Services Graffiti Paint ...

Short description A breakthrough nanotech coating for cartridges in firearms can transfer hard-to-remove tags to gun offenders and better capture DNA Article body Gun-slinging evil-doers beware. Scientific justice is just around the corner thanks to a new nanotechnology system that not only better captures DNA on guns, but attaches hard-to-remove, microscopic tags to the hands and clothing of criminals who fire their weapons. Developed in the U.K., the tags are a unique blend of naturally-occurring pollen, known for its extraordinary adhesive properties, and nanotechnology particles. The composition can be used as an abrasive coating to capture skin cells on gun cartridges, usually too smooth or shiny to retain much evidence in the way of fingerprints or DNA. The tags in the coating also transfer themselves to anyone handling the cartridges and are very difficult to wash off. But the benefits of the nanotechnology don't stop there. Most evidence is usually destroyed after a gun is fired, because of the heat generated. The coating has been designed to avoid such heat damage and can even be varied subtly for every cartridge batch, making it easier for officials to tie guns back to the offenders. The breakthrough technology is cost-effective and could potentially be put to use within a year. Researchers may also consider applying the system to other weapons like knifes. I first saw the most recent scourge of blog [...] ...
