If the Yankees are looking to add pitching, they may look through trading before spending one hundred million dollars on a pitcher. If the Padres decided to have a fire sale, they could ask Peavy to waive his no trade clause and possibly unload him. Peavy's agent Barry Alexrod hinted that the Yankees were one of Peavy's three teams in the AL that would entice him, so this is very possible. Peavy was 10-11 with a 2.85 ERA for a 99-loss team, so those numbers will obviously look a lot better with a run scoring team. The Padres could land a package that included Robinson Cano, Edwar Ramirez, and minor leaguers like Jeffery Marquez, Austin Jackson, and a low level minor leaguer. That type a move would definitely help the Padres because not only do they land an All-Star second baseman, but they land an excellent reliever in Ramirez with All-Star potential.A If the Padres can make this kind of trade this offseason, they should not hesitate, it would help them in long run.A This story was approved by MLB Rumors. ... There are seven $600,000 luxury suites left unsold at the New Yankee Stadium, according to Bloomberg.com. The Yankees organization isn't concerned about it. The country is in a bad economic crisis, but the club doesn't believe that they won't be able to sell them. There are 47 luxury suites in total, but not all of them will be sold since some will be used for corporate sponsors. Trost wouldn't answer the question as to how many suites were sold. Suites priced at $850,000 to $650,000 have already been sold out for a minimum of 5 years. Seats at the new ballpark will range anywhere from $12 to $2,500. About 35,000 seaon ticket holders were sent surveys about purchasing seats at the new ballpark, and the Yankees received 30,000 positive responses. As you would think, fans still have interest in buying seats at the new stadium. Luxury Suite features: Indoor and outdoor seating High-definition televisions and a private bathroom Food isn't included with the cost, but parking is. Eight party suites will be sold on a game-by-game basis. Lonn Trost speaks: "We recognize what the fans want. We recognize what the fans abilities are, and we recognize what the economic trends are now and the past and the future," Trost said. "We are well aware of what is going on in the world and we are well aware of the new stadium." "We are reflective of and conscious of the state of the economy," Trost said in an interview. "From a micro view, we don't see an ... Source: www.topix.com --- 6 hours ago

It’s no secret the Yankees need to rebuild. But let’s not complicate matters. Hey, this isn’t rocket science. It’s baseball. And more than anything, the Yankees need to get pitching and to get younger, faster and more athletic. For years now, the Yankees have tried to get away with make-shift pitching staffs and band-aid remedies. Old broken [...] ... Source: www.latimes.com --- 3 hours ago
Dodgers' Game 4 starter will be pitching on short rest, but he has proved he can handle it in the past and his manager isn't worried. The last time Joe Torre used a pitcher on three days' rest in the playoffs, he sent Chien-Ming Wang to the mound for Game 4 of the 2007 American League division series. Wang was pounded by the Cleveland Indians for four runs in the first two innings, setting the stage for the Yankees' elimination from the postseason and Torre's exit from New York. ... Even before the short-season rosters were announced, Yankees Scouting Director Damon Oppenheimer nabbed Addison Maruszak as a potential sleeper. And while his performance in Staten Island this year did nothing but confirm that opinion, it was the work he did behind the scenes in a late season call-up and in Instructs that shows why he'll be one to keep an eye on in the coming years. ... (from The Launching Pad) Don’t kill me, Red Sox Nation… Hear me out.
