Microsoft dropped a bunch of awesome bombs in their keynote , but there's more! Marc Whitten reveals that you'll be able to copy full games and play them directly off the hard drive to shrink load times (and silence disc spinning), though you'll still need the game inserted so they know you own it. Also, you can make Live Marketplace purchases from the web and they'll automatically download to your console. Further on the UI upgrades , the old blades are just moving to the new Xbox guide—every feature, including games library is always available. Games For Windows Live, the PC equivalent of Xbox Live, has now gone free. As of now, you won't have to subscribe to a Games For Windows Live Gold Account ($49 a year) in order to get the PC to PC or PC to Xbox 360 multiplayer action. When we posted the news on pricing for the Jonathan Blow's Braid for Xbox Live Arcade last week , Microsoft was quick to respond to the post, telling us that the price listing on the Japanese site was incorrect, and that pricing was still being determined. Well now the official price has been revealed over at the Gamerscore Blog, and Braid will indeed cost 1200 Microsoft Points - $15 - when it is released this Wednesday. I don't know why they'd go to all the trouble to deny the pricing, only to confirm it as correct a week later. Blizzard Entertainment's anticipated PC sequels StarCraft II and Diablo III will track a player's achievements via a unified "Blizzard Account," World of Warcraft lead designer Jeff Kaplan has revealed. "Eventually, our plans are for the Achievement system to become an account-based system," Kaplan told MTV Multiplayer . "For now the points are just a [World of Warcraft] character score. For the past few years, achievements have been all the rage on Xbox 360. The recent PS3 v2.4 firmware update added in support for trophies, Sony’s answer to achievements, and PlayStation Home has promised to make trophies a big deal. So imagine the possibility of achievements in World of Warcraft ; a scenario we learned would become reality with the game’s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King . As it turns out, there’s more to Blizzard’s plans for achievements than just tacking on some goals to their insanely popular MMO — Diablo III and Starcraft II will be getting in on the achievement love, too. “Eventually, our plans are for the Achievement system to become an account-based system,” WoW lead designer Jeff Kaplan told MTV Multiplayer. With these new Blizzard Accounts, you’ll be able to earn points to add to your “Blizzard Level,” which Kaplan admitted is “basically a Gamerscore” when the subject of Xbox Live’s system came up. “For now the points are just a WoW character score. As we graduate to that Blizzard Account system, which is right on the horizon, it will switch over to a Blizzard Level.” He added, “Your WoW score would be just one factor that will go into your Blizzard Level. With such a wide range of impressions flying around about Silicon Knights' Too Human , why not just play it for yourself? Microsoft said today that it will release a demo of Too Human over Xbox Live Marketplace during E3 next week, meaning you'll get to go hands-on with the upcoming action RPG. Or, you know, the first few minutes of it.. Xbox 360's online servers will also be full of other E3 content next week, like game trailers, show news, and more demos, although Microsoft is mum on what those might be. When I spoke with lead “ World of Warcraft ” designer Jeff Kaplan yesterday about the game’s new Achievement system, he revealed that eventually players will have a Blizzard Account that shows Achievements from other Blizzard games they’ve played, including the upcoming titles “ Diablo III ” and “ StarCraft II .” “Eventually, our plans are for the Achievement system to become an account-based system,” he explained. When the new Blizzard Accounts are active, a player’s ‘WoW’ points can be added to an overall score dubbed an account holder’s “Blizzard Level.” “It’s basically a Gamerscore,” Kaplan said, when I made reference to Xbox Live’s Achievement system. “For now the points are just a ‘WoW’ character score. As we graduate to that Blizzard Account system, which is right on the horizon, it will switch over to a Blizzard Level.” He added, “Your ‘WoW’ score would be just one factor that will go into your Blizzard Level. Today Microsoft announced that over the next five weeks, five of the most anticipated Xbox Live Arcade games will be arriving. Sometimes Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, Orkut and OpenSocial just aren't enough. Too much real world stuff, not enough Gamerscore bragging. Enter Raptr - a new social network for gamers founded by Dennis 'Thresh' Fong (he had to do something with all that prize money) that offers a way of tracking your friends and sharing what you are in to on several popular games networks. Once you have signed in and chosen a nick, you can enter your IDs on Xbox Live, PSN, World of Warcraft, Steam and others, then start entering the games in your collection. Where it can, Raptr will pull data from your various networks and update your profile with a list of your current games, achievements and the like. There are plugins for displaying your data on Facebook et al too, of course. A free client for PC or Mac will display and update data from you and your friends in real time as well as suck data from any games you play on your box — less of an issue for most Mac geeks, presumably. Filed under: News A day prior to PAX officially kicking off (which was this past Thursday, if we recall correctly) Mr. Paladino from the Gamerscore Blog and Mr. Major "Larry Hryb" Nelson were kind enough to invite team X3F over to one of Microsoft's Xbox campuses for a some tour fun. We had a chance to inspect the lobby (don't pre-judge, lobbies can be interesting), meet Master Chief , inspect a few awards , touch the Surface and take a looksy at the Xbox Live Online Lab . The one room that all of Xbox Live and its pieces parts are monitored from BUT a room that we couldn't photograph for obvious "super secret" reasons. We did take a picture of the door though, so be happy with that. Hace unas semanas os informamos de que Wrath of the Lich King , la segunda expansión del millonario World of WarCraft, sería el primer juego de Blizzard en incluir un sistema de logros, muy parecido al ya instaurado en el sistema Xbox Live o en el servicio Steam de Valve Software. Pues bien, hoy Blizzard ha anunciado que incluirá este nuevo sistema en sus otros dos proyectos en desarrollo: StarCraft II y Diablo III . Así, todos los logros conseguidos por el jugador se almacenarán en las estadísticas de su cuenta Blizzard, lo cual le permitirá ir ascendiendo en un sistema de clasificación muy similar a los Gamerscore de Xbox Live.
