Title: Time. Fandom: The X Files Character(s) or Pairing: Dana Scully Prompt: #5, time. Rating: PG Summary: Scully muses on the definition and essence of time A/N: First one for this challenge, 152 words. My understanding of Einstine may or may not be correct. Time flows. It's presence nether tense nor alarming. Why do we have time. We made it up that is for certain. Time is a man made concept. Not one which came from heaven. Do we wish to see time as a gift, or something that hurries us...drives us forward towards our goals and our destiny. Perhaps we see it as a counter, a measure of life in this galaxy. Or perhaps we see it as a pain, that we are caught between the clocks tick. Time, as the world has shaped it, controls everything we do, have and become. Perhaps without this notion of time we could acheive more. Perhaps without the constrains which time throws upon us, we could be more. Einstine's twin paradox states (basically) that one person moving through time would age quicker than one who dosn't. Perhaps Einstine was on the right track, perhaps time is a paradox. ...

Really admire the X-Files ! great idea , wonderful people , it's a big pleasure to "be"with Mulder&Scully during the film! Have watched all the 9 seasons and it was a happy time , while the film was on the screen every everning :) but only one episode a day always seemed not enough ) for me The X-Files is not only a favourite film of my childhood , but also is like a mescot during life , a picture that always makes me sure that the future is worth fighting for it , that even one person or two people may be stronger to change the world , change other's lives by giving a hope! It's a great pleasure for me to see Mulder and Scully on the screen , and to be sure that they will never be forgotten and that now more admirers of this work want to see it again! I want to believe the 3rd film will excist soon !  :) ...

Try this creepy news from CNN : When our children were born, the hospital carried out newborn screening tests that included the collection of their DNA . I think I knew that at the time. The nurses probably mentioned it, but I was too in awe/in love/drugged up/exhausted/in pain (likely all of those things) to really think about what it could mean. The government collects your child's DNA for several reasons. To screen against and prescribe treatments for illnesses, such as cystic fibrosis . A little girl in the CNN story tested positive for that genetic disease, but after further testing, it turned out she didn't have it. It's also kept of file in case someday, God forbid, authorities need to identify the body of a deceased child. I get both of those reasons. Fine. Now the sort of creepy part. Some states will destroy the DNA after that critical testing period. Others can legally hold on to it indefinitely. Why? Sometimes they turn it over to researchers who do gene experiments on it. The scientific community loves this. They wouldn't be able to get baby DNA any other way. They're not supposed to have your baby's name attached to it without a parent's consent, but sometimes they still get a hold of those details, according to the CNN piece. That could mean so many things, but do you really want the government or health insurance companies knowing your child's entire genetic history? What if your child can't qualify for insurance some ...

Try the following. Create a test folder called “ Test .” Inside that folder, create another folder called “ Enclosed .” Inside the “ Test ” folder (next to the “ Enclosed ” folder), put two Files of any kind. Let’s say the Files are called “ text1.txt ” and “ text2.txt ”: Select “ text1.txt ” and bring up the information for the file. Check the “ Locked ” option under “ General ”: Now the file icon will have a small padlock icon in the bottom-left corner: Now select both “ text1.txt ” and “ text2.txt ” in the window and try to drag them onto the “ Enclosed ” folder icon, in order to move them inside that folder. Does the resulting behaviour strike you as normal? Of course the “ text1.txt ” file is locked, so the Finder can’t move it. But is that a good reason to: put copies of both “ text1.txt ” and “ text2.txt ” inside the “Enclosed” folder not remove either “ text1.txt ” or “ text2.txt ” from inside the parent folder not give the user any feedback about what has just happened? In my view, this is totally unacceptable. Compare that to what happens when you select both “ text1.txt ” and “ text2.txt ” and try to put them in the trash. The Finder correctly detects that one of the Files you are trying to trash is locked and asks you what you want to do: Compared to this, the behaviour when attempting to move the two Files to another folder is totally inconsistent and totally unacceptable. At the very least, there should be some sound feedback ...
