Running Vista 64bit with VMWare Workstation 6.5 and in that I am running a Virtual Vista 64bit. :) Now I am having issues with bridged networking, NAT works fine but Bridged won't. I am using Linksys router with DDWRT and NON-DHCP (I assign my IPs). So I did assign an IP to the Virtual Vista and it just won't take. It gets stuck at IDENTIFYING NETWORK and then UNKNOWN NETWORK...no connection to the net. If I go with NAT and auto IP assign then it works fine but well the devices outside can't see the server processes inside the VM (like Ventrillo, Teamspeak, sharing) since the new assigned IP is on a different subnet. I would really want to keep the same subnet as my network (hence bridging). That is why I am wondering if anyone had similar issues. ... Source: www.harmony-central.com --- 6 days ago

I'm trying to install Workstation 6.5 on Ubuntu 8.04. Previously I had 6.0.5 working fine. I ran the "bundle" as root and it installed the VMware files, but it doesn't compile anything as the old scripts (nothing wrong with them!) used to. Workstation starts up (slowly), but when I try to start up a VM, I get the following: VMware Workstation Error: VMware Workstation is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured for your running kernel. To (re-)configure it, your system administrator must find and run "vmware-config.pl". For more information, please see the VMware Workstation documentation. Press "Enter" to continue... Well, there is no more vmware-config.pl and the VMware Workstation documentation doesn't say much. So, how do I continue? ... Source: forums.novell.com --- 2 days ago

We are using Novell Client 4.91 SP4 for Windows. When we check "Workstation Only", put in the username/password and hit enter, it always fails the first time. It then clears the password, type it in again and the second time it works. We do have it auto login to the Workstation as a certain user (localuse) when a Novell user logs in. If we login as Workstation Only, but leave the username 'localuse' at the login screen and hit enter, then it works fine, but change the username to another user, then it will only work on the second attempt. Any ideas why this is? ... Source: en.audiofanzine.com --- 11 days ago

Hi all, I'm wondering how to do the following (if at all possible) - I'd like to have any Workstations importing/registering to eDirectory automatically add themselves as Members of other Workstation Group objects depending on IP/subnet they register from. I already have all Workstations joining a Workstation Group object reflecting all defined Workstations within my OU, but I can't see any way of further customizing the auto-import. For example, lets imagine I have a multi-level office building, with a different subnet representing each floor: - Both Desktops A and B are currently added to an 'All_Workstations' group - Desktop A, is registering with eDirectory from within 192.168.1.0 subnet, so I want it automatically become a member of '1st_Floor' Workstation Group - Desktop B, registers from within the 192.168.2.0 subnet, so I want it becoming a member of '2nd_Floor' Workstation Group Environment: Netware 6.5, eDir 8.7.3.9, ZDM SP1 R2 (I have IR3a to install soon) Any insight is appreciated! ...
