Word is floating around out there that the Nets are shopping Vince Carter, including a report that they've called the Cavs to determine their interest level. Let's put that rumor out of its misery. A Nets official told me today, "We are not looking to trade Vince Carter." The Nets have reached out to agents for about 20 free agents, but they're clearly operating in wait-and-see mode. Their list includes Roger Mason, Mickael Pietrus, Matt Barnes, Maurice Evans, Kareem Rush, Fred Jones, Quinton Ross, Kwame Brown, Eduardo Najera, Devean George, Jarvis Hayes, Keyon Dooling, and Janerro Pargo. Hughes is bound to ride the pine all season for 12 million nonetheless, this gives the Bulls a chance to compete this season. I don't think the bulls are going to be able to compete in the 2010 free agents chase. As a fan i would love to see a Rose, Ty Thomas, and Vince on the floor at the same time, at the least they should be able to put up some points. After the Nets gave away Jefferson this makes me believe the they'll take another overpaid guard/cap space in 2010 and a bit of a prospect in Thabo. Talk to me, what do you think? ... Reebok International Ltd ., the authentic outfitter of the National Football League , announced the launch of the VY Electrify football cleat and trainer - shoes named for Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young. The VY Electrify line is available nationwide at stores operated by Dick's Sporting Goods Inc ., a Pittsburgh-based retailer, Reebok said. The VY Electrify line consists of three styles of football cleats as well as the VY Preseason Trainer, Reebok said, and to support the line, Reebok and Dick's Sporting Goods are teaming up on a national marketing campaign that incorporates retail, direct mail, and a TV commercial described as a "retrospective focusing on Young's football career from Pop Warner through the pro ranks," Reebok said. A statement from Young was included in Reebok's press release. In the statement, Young said: "I'm happy to be working with Reebok and Dick's Sporting Goods to launch my new cleat. I know it takes a lot of faith in an athlete for a company to create a signature product, and I will do my best to make Reebok and Dick's Sporting Goods proud.
