Frustration at the pump continues as Drivers face the reality of a fuel shortage. Refineries are running at about two-thirds capacity and slowly coming back online following hurricanes Gustav and Ike. That has slowed down the fuel flow through the two pipelines North Carolina has access to. Governor Mike Easley said oil companies are working to transfer gasoline through those lines and we should see a difference in a couple days. Many gas stations in the Triangle only have regular gasoline left. Independent trucking sub-contractor for Sears, Rodney Baker, said he has been having a hard time finding diesel. "You go to different locations and they're out so you're riding around to two or three, four different stations trying to find diesel," Baker said. With an average of one fill-up per 10 hour day all of that searching is costing Baker who also pays three other men to work for him. "It puts us behind because everything we do is based on a time schedule and if it puts you behind, you're wasting time; you're wasting diesel driving around looking for diesel," Baker said. Baker isn't alone. Larry Perry, who works on a delivery Truck, passed four gas stations before finding a gas station with diesel. "It's a waste of time and money really.
