Yesterday, Paramount and DreamWorks SKG struck a deal that ends a partnership between the two production groups. Steven Speilberg, along with his other co-founders, will form an independent studio that is backed by Indian conglomerate Reliance. There are agreements in place that allow DreamWorks to co-produce and co-distribute several titles and DreamWorks will lead the production of several upcoming movies. Additionally, Steven Speilberg will continue to act as an executive producer on all Transformers movies although Paramount will continue to produce the movie series. ...

Right off the bat, let me admit this: I never saw all of Transformers . I knew it wasn't my cup of tea, and when I caught about ten minutes at the DVD store recently, I was convinced I made the right decision. (God, that dialog made me laugh.) That being said, I think I might have been swayed if BBQ fiends had a hand in the film. As Serious Eats has shared, the right porcine transformer above was part of the American Royal Barbecue Contest , which recently smoked up lots of meat and had some clever competitors from Massachusetts . I never realized before how perfectly a pig would fit into the Transformer mold until now. Instead of Optimus Prime, maybe it'd be Optimus Prime Rib? Rawhide rather than Ironhide? In what would be a heavy blow for our UK counterparts, it appears that the Transformers: Animated line may come to a close far earlier than anticipated. Red leader of the TFW Boards has posted: I recieved a phone call from one of my suppliers this afternoon with regard to the Transformers Animated line, many retailers have wave 4.5 on pre-order from Hasbro, this includes Swoop, Sentinel Prime etc, the bad news is that I recieved a warning that the line may be cancelled before wave 4.5 and not to offer pre-orders for the figures. As yet there has been no official confirmation, or denial from Hasbro. If and When there is Seibertron.com will let you know. ...
