“iPhone 3G is the best Touchscreen phone and media player by far on any network,” proclaims Mark Spoonauer (laptopmag.com) in his 4-star (out of five) review of iPhone 3G. “It delivers the best mobile Web experience on any smart phone,” offers “excellent App Store integration,” “vastly improved call quality,” and “Microsoft Exchange support.” And, he adds, iPhone 3G is a “stellar music and video player.” ...

Filed under: Portable Audio , Portable Video It was inevitable. We just knew Gemei couldn't hold its own forever, and now it seems the resistance to copying other interfaces has finally failed. The all-too-familiar X780 comes equipped with a 3-inch 400 x 280 resolution display, 4GB of internal memory, a miniSD expansion slot, FM tuner, built-in microphone, TV output and an unspecified emulator for gaming it up. As expected, this thing can handle just about every format known to man including WMA, APE, FLAC, MP3, WAV, ASF, MPEG, AVI, FLV, VOD, PNG, JPG, etc. No one's talking about pricing just yet, but we have a feeling it'll be somewhere between cheap and really cheap. clipped by: Elizabeth Woyke clipper's remarks: Viewers of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight," were treated to a glimpse of Nokia's most-anticipated release, a Touchscreen phone code-named Tube. The handset, which brings to mind Neonode's N2 (scroll down for photo), is expected to launch before the end of the year. Clip Source: www.unwiredview.com The Nokia Tube in The Dark Knight movie was described as follows: “Bottom keys seemed touch sensitive in the way they lit up, but they could have been like the N81 keys. The front was glossy black and the side had a orange ring around it like the N78/N81/N96. The back was black.” Clip Source: www.engadget.com Even for gadget freaks, it was tough to take one's attention away from the outstanding action that filled The Dark Knight from beginning to end, but when Morgan Freeman had to hand over his Nokia XpressMedia 5800 (or Tube , as it were) at a stop in Hong Kong, we had to take a moment and gush. Nokia's still-not-official handset had a few critical scenes where it was highlighted, though we'd wager it was only viewable for 4 to 5 seconds in total. That’s right folks, we have pictures with the actual keyboard from BlackBerry Thunder. Sure it’s a exactly the same Touchscreen keyboard the iPhone has. Well not exactly the same identical one but the same concept. You get my point right? From what we can see here, and if it’s not photoshopped, the Thunder looks good. I don’t think anyone will miss the real QWERTY classic keyboard. We’ve heard some weird rumors about the Thunder last week but from this pictures everything seems to be going fine, with RIM on its way of releasing another best seller. Let’s not forget about the haptic feedback system this BlackBerry is going to have. Hopefully it’s going to work out just fine and we will get that great touch and feel experience when dealing with RIM’s Touchscreen. And besides the actual tactile feeling you will get a click sound similar to the sound a pressed key makes. It’s weird why we feel the need to receive a response when touching a screen. Did I say touching? I mean multi-touching of course. That’s right, multi-touch is rumored to be available. Waiting for more picture and facts about this BlackBerry here . Although that Nokia sits fearlessly at the top of the mobile phone industry, they certainly want to keep up to date to latest trends when it comes to cell phones and smartphones. Currently what Nokia really lacks is a Touchscreen handset. We’ve all witnessed Apple’s success at selling their second generation iPhone. Despite it’s their second cell phone, they managed to sell 1 million units in the first weekend. That’s incomparable to the million phones Nokia sells every quarter but still it points out a fact. Toucscreens are popular. Smartphones with touchscreens are popular . Samsung has the Instinct and the Omnia, HTC has a few Touch devices. Even RIM is working on their first one. So Nokia simply has to follow. Although there’s no name for the future Nokia Touchscreen handset, it’s rumored that it will hit the market by the end of the year. It’s also said this first device will be an entry level to mid-range smartphone designated to the masses. Surely they will be developing iPhone like smartphones in the near future, but in the mean time I’d like to test out their first Touchscreen phone. Pricing details for Gigabyte’s M912 mini-convertible have emerged, courtesy of UMPC Fever’s user forum. From the start, OS details were confusing; now it appears that three versions of the Touchscreen notebook will be available, the M912V running Vista and the M912X and M912M both running XP. All three models will use a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU and have an 8.9-inch display. The M912V will apparently be priced at around $656 and come with 1GB of RAM, both WiFi and Bluetooth, and use a 1,280 x 768 panel. The M912X, meanwhile, will be priced at $620 for the same specs, while the M912M loses both Bluetooth and pixels, thanks to a mere 1,024 x 600 panel, to hit a $556 price. The M912 measures 235 x 180 x 28~42mm and tips the scales at 1.2kg; there’s no optical drive, but there are three USB ports, audio, D-SUB video and an SD card slot. Storage is courtesy of a 160GB hard-drive standard to each model. Maximum battery life is quoted at 4hrs from the 4400mAh Li-ion pack. Sadly we still don’t have any availability details.
