Voters in Pulaski County will go to the polls Tuesday to chose the Republican and Democratic candidates for offices ranging from governor to county surveyor. While most offices in Pulaski County feature only one candidate in each party’s primary who will face off in the November election, three races have multiple candidates. Those races are the Democratic contest between Earl Arnold of Waynesville and Bobby Miller of Crocker to challenge incumbent Republican Eastern District County Commissioner Bill Farnham and the races on both parties’ tickets for sheriff and Western District County Commissioner. Incumbent Sheriff J.B. King of Waynesville faces a Republican primary challenge from retired conservation agent Terry Robinson of Devil’s Elbow. The winner will face a Democratic challenge from either former Sheriff J.T. Roberts of Waynesville or Lt. Bill Anderson, a reserve deputy on the force. Republican Western District County Commissioner Dennis Thornsberry is retiring after two terms and six candidates seek to fill his shoes: Democrats Wayne Anderson of Richland and Bill Laughlin and Teddy Helms of Crocker and Republicans David Dicker of Laquey and Dave Grossman and Ricky Zweerink of Crocker.
