The Seattle SuperSonics announced the team’s Roster for the Orlando Pro Summer League, which runs from July 7-11. Sonics draft choices Russell Westbrook, D.J. White and DeVon Hardin will compete in the weeklong League. The team’s other draft pick, Serge Ibaka, will return to Spain to compete professionally there, and will not play in the Summer League. Seattle played in the Las Vegas Summer League and the Salt Lake City Revue last year. But Sonics brass decided to play in Orlando instead this Summer, which is not open to the public and is shorter than Las Vegas. Jeff Green is a surprise addition to the Roster. Both Green and Kevin Durant were expected to sit out Summer League play this season. Green and Durant also have been selected to play on the U.S. Select team that will compete against the U.S. Olympic team in Las Vegas in preparation for the Beijing Summer Olympics. (This piece of crap format doesn't differentiate between items that are links and items that are bold.  I need to do some editing to make this readable.  There are a lot of links in this.  Ok, it is somewhat acceptable.  I don't know how everybody's browser is going to display things, but in mine everything in bold is a link until you get down to the section where I start saying what I think.  Make sure to follow some of the links, especially the player profiles on Draft Express because they have some interesting information.) I've compiled the reviews that I could find and that I thought were poignant.  Be warned, there is a lot here.  At the end, I discuss what I think. The guys over at draftexpress.com were at every Summer League game evaluating.  Here's what they have on the Spurs game by game.  (They haven't come out with the fourth game for the Rocky Mountain Revue, game three came out today, and I'm not going to wait any longer.) The links for the players take you to their player profiles at Draft Express where you can read more about them. The links for the games take you to the box score for that game. Summer League Game 1 Ian Mahinmi : 18 Points, 5-10 FG, 8-10 FT, 8 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Turnovers Mahinmi gave a strong showing today, but showed that he still has a ways to go. He’s got very nice touch for a player with his skill level, making it seem like he could develop a very nice back to the basket game over time. He ...

[From the FanPosts. There's reasons to have all these rotation players in the Summer League, but it also has me expecting them to win by 40 each night. Otherwise my hemming and/or hawing will start to increase. -ed.] The full list is here . Interesting additions: JamesOn Curry, who apparently hasn't pissed away his NBA career [zing! -ed.] , Cedric Simmons, a former lottery mid first-round pick with good size and athleticism, Will Daniels , who's a good athlete and had some pretty good numbers at Rhode Island.  Interesting omission: the Swiss Mister.  Still, with Noah, Tyrus, and Rose, we may be looking at 3/5 the starting lineup and the debut of VDN.  Should be exciting. ...

Written by Matt Watson For what it’s worth, Ohad was equally as disenchanted with former (and future?) The warriors just updated their website today with the rosters for both the Las Vegas Summer League and the Rocky Mountain Summer leagues. The team consists of nothing but guards and forwards. In fact Anthony Randolph is the tallest player on this team. Which I find kind of funny. Anyways heres the link. ttp://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/04/SPV611JS76.DTL Golden State has reached out to forward Corey Maggette , another Clippers free agent, according to two League sources. The Warriors are one of the few teams who can offer Maggette more than the mid-level exception, which is expected to be around $5.6 million when the new cap figures are released. Here we go, looks like the Warriors are talking to Maggette now.  He's fine, let's go for him, but nothing ridiculous that could hurt us financially cuz this guy is barely a starter.  Not saying he's not good, he's real cool and he didn't like Dunleavy Sr. anyways so I'm sure he'd be great under Nellie playing for their rival... just let's not get too emotional in trying to get him you know? FYI Summer League Roster/Lineup: Summer League set: Assistant coach Keith Smart 's Roster for the Las Vegas Summer League beginning July 11 will be highlighted by draft picks Anthony Randolph and Richard Hendrix , as well as incumbents Brandan Wright , Marco Belinelli and C.J. Watson . Free-agent invitees include former Kings guard Louis Amundson and undrafted Duke guard DeMarcus Nelson . UPDATE: Before you get excited, Maggette is almost set on going to Boston! LOL.   This Summer is sucking. http://www.timesargus.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080704/SPORTS/807040357/1004/SPORTS   ...
