Here is a great example of a budding rivalry with a lot of potential between two guys that could really be huge stars in the future. This feud really began last Friday night on Smackdown during the debut episode on MyNetwork TV when Punk teamed with Carlito and Primo to face DiBiase, Rhodes, and Manu. Although Kofi Kingston and Cody Rhodes will likely find a place here, the real issue seems to be relegated to Punk and DiBiase. This is WWE's chance to put a lot more development on DiBiase, who's slowly establishing himself on Raw while being associated with a strong team and while wearing the World Tag Team Championship around his waist. His character is still a little thin, and these encounters with CM Punk can help bring more out of him. It would also be nice to hear him speak more in promos, interviews, backstage scenes, etc. ...

Interestingly, this new Punk-DiBiase feud began last week on Smackdown; it continued Monday night on Raw; and it's now stretched into ECW territory. That's an example of WWE really pushing this thing. It means that in the last three WWE shows on television, Punk and DiBiase were somehow involved in a rivalry that's quickly gaining some traction. Despite Punk being pinned by John Morrison, it's important to remember that DiBiase was involved with the finish: He is the one who hung Punk over the top rope, allowing Morrison to hit his finisher and pick up the win. It's actually good that a third party got the win in this instance because it leaves more intrigue for an eventual in-ring meeting between Punk and DiBiase one-on-one. ...
