A riverfront eatery inside an old Rock Island train depot is reopening under different management, a little more than a month after it closed. River Station - which will soon be renamed Tilley's at River Station, 212 Water St. - reopens either the first or second week of September under the direction of Metamora residents Julie and David Tilley. It will be open for lunches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and for dinners from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. "We want to give this restaurant back to the community of Peoria," Julie Tilley said Tuesday, a day after she learned they would be able to get a state liquor license in time for the opening. "This building needs to breathe a sense of easement and peace knowing it has someone in here that wants to take care of it." Describing the meal choices as "eclectic," the Tilleys plan to re-employ the entire kitchen staff which was left without jobs once former operator Tracy Nichols had to Shutter the restaurant after filing for bankruptcy and not paying taxes. The kitchen staff will be in charge of preparing a menu that will include pasta, fresh seafood, signature dinners, appetizers, desserts and something called "flaming coffee," among other choices. With two of our favorites at the helm (and Scorsese directing) I'm excited to see them getting to work even though we have a long patient wait before it's finally on the big screen. About one-third of my Saturday was spent in the general environs of Long Island's Nassau Coliseum, whose parking lot played host to the New York area stop of the skate/punk/emo/exercises in branding festival known as the Warped Tour. Not only were there some 100 bands playing condensed sets during the course of those eight hours, there were merch tents (one for each band on the traveling bill), signings, acoustic sets, petitions to sign, skaters performing tricks, free energy drinks, pro-vegetarianism propaganda, Shutter-shade vendors, and a store with Barack Obama-branded items. Not to mention the chance to play Rock Band alongside the session musicians backing up this country's current No. 1 song. After the jump, a rundown of the day. THE BANDS: In rough order: I arrived just as The Academy Is... launched into their set, and once again , they were 100% enjoyable, playing two new songs and causing nearly every female in the audience to have conniption fits. We recently had the privilege of chatting with the lovely Sir Ben Kingsley , who is headlining the Sundance sweetheart, The Wackness , opening this Thursday. In it, he plays Dr. Squires, a rather troubled therapist who has an unusual relationship with a patient, with whom he trades is psychiatric services for pot. Kingsley is just finishing up shooting another part in which he plays a shrink, in Martin Scorsese 's Shutter Island . "I play another psychiatrist, but very different from Dr. Squires. Very sober, very against the use of drugs in therapy, and also very against the use of surgical intervention in therapy," says Kingsley. He does have a patient to whom he's completely dedicated who is going through an extremely dangerous time -- the great Leonardo DiCaprio ," he reveals. We recently spoke with Emily Mortimer ( Lars and the Real Girl , Match Point ), who is starring in a few upcoming indies--this weekend's Ryan Reynolds starrer, Chaos Theory , next month's David Mamet jiu-jitsu drama, Redbelt , among them.
But even more exciting is Mortimer's mainstream turn in Martin Scorsese 's next movie, the Dennis Lehane ( Mystic River , Gone Baby Gone ) mystery/thriller Shutter Island , which is still shooting.
Mortimer confirms that even though the movie is based on Lehane's novel, Shutter Island , Scorese has changed the title. " It was called Shutter Island , it's now called Ashecliffe , " she says.
"I play someone in an asylum for the criminally insane in the 1950s," Mortimer explained. "So you're an inmate?" we asked. But the bright-eyed Mortimer couldn't divulge any more. "It's complicated," she said. "It's a very plot-driven thing, so I can't give too much away 'cuz it will spoil the story."

For most people, the attraction of a Hollywood or television acting career is a distant dream originating from the comfort of a couch or recliner attached to a remote. And for most people, that’s where it will stay. But for lifelong Fall River resident Bill Silvia Jr., it’s a dream he’s living with roles in "The Departed," "Fever Pitch" and "Underdog," to name just a few. It wasn’t always bright lights and big city for this Spindle City man though. Silvia, 48, has been a private investigator for the past 18 years. Four years ago, he began a side gig searching for famous people he could photograph to sell pictures to high-profile magazines. But the closer Silvia got to the celebrity limelight, which included a photograph of former 80s singer Bobby Brown coming out of Dedham Probate Court taken from atop a nearby Dumpster that was printed in a number of national magazine, the more he wanted to get closer to the action. When his PI work allows him some rare free time, Silvia is traveling to Boston or Providence in hopes of landing parts in another television series or movie. It’s hard to argue with some of his extra work going back to 2006 with small roles in TV shows like “The Bronx is Burning” and “Waterfront” and movies like “Hard Luck,” “Stiffs,” “Gone Baby Gone,” “Townies” and more recently, “Shutter Island,” a film by Martin Scorsese now being filmed in Boston.
