A councilman wants to ban Sex Offenders from parks in the coastal North Carolina city of Wilmington, a newspaper reported Monday. The proposal will be discussed Tuesday by the City Council, The Star-News of Wilmington reported. Councilman Jason Thompson is seeking the law. Thompson said there haven't been any specific incidents that prompted his proposal, but that he hears concerns about Sex Offenders in public places. The newspaper said the state Sex offender registry shows there are 145 Offenders living in Wilmington.
