I am a * Gold member with UA and transiting through SFO to HKG next week. I am looking to get a quick shower before the long haul. The SQ web site states that * Gold members should have access to the SFO lounge, however in a search, posts from 2000 state that SQ has been denying entry to SFO lounges for * gold members. If this is still true does anyone , do they sell day passes at that lounge? thanks in advance ...

I'm planning a family trip to HKG next spring and wondering if anybody has thoughts on where fares are going. I can get us all there for about $900 a head at the moment, which actually is the cheapest of all their competitors. Any thoughts on whether that's going to look like a good deal in a few months? My hunch is that fuel surcharges and fare increases are on their way as the airlines get us used to a new economic reality (in order for them to stay in business) and that $900 R/T is going to look like a bargain by the beginning of next year. But I could be wrong, maybe oil prices will drop some. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. ...

Hope y'all bear with me as I submit my first trip report. I have a RTW on SQ coming in a couple of weeks and I'd like to be able to report live. Any and all comments are appreciated. *San Francisco-Montreal June 21, 2008 AC 760 J A319 Seats 2AC 11:45A PST - 8:05P EST* Although I fly SFO-YUL on business once every 6-8 weeks, I rarely fly AC as upgrades aren't available for anyone other than AC elites, their single daily non-stop is not conveniently time for business travel, and their J fares are ridiculously high. However, for 40,000 Amex miles for a weekend leisure trip, it's a good deal for my wife and I to visit the family. Online check-in from home was relatively easy, and involved little more than inputting passport numbers and verifying seat selection. Not as user-friendly as CO but much better than AA which doesn’t permit OLCI for trans-border flights! :td: We bypassed the AC counter in T3 but on the way to security did notice that they were still using the old manual flight information board that they simply moved over from T1. We had to exit T3 on the way to security to bypass the hoards of pax lined up to pay their $15 checked baggage fee at the AA counters. Another brilliant AA idea, but I digress. Security was a breeze using the AA Priority Lane on our way to Gate 61…a perfect gate location if one belongs to the Admirals Club. Unfortunately, AC is *A not OW. J pax are invited to use the RCC, a completely useless “perk” since ...

I am taking a red eye to SFO in a week and then transiting to a SFO HKG flight on UA that early afternoon. I am looking to get a quick shower before the long haul. The only lounge that appears to have a shower is the SQ silver kris lounge at SFO. According to SQ's web site, it states that the lounge opens at 10:50am at SFO and *G's have access to it. I am a 1P with UA and waiting to upgrade to buisness on the SFO flight. I have searched the forums and the last posts were in 2000, that SQ was not letting *G's access to some of their lounges? Anyone with any experiences at SFO. If they will not let me in, does anyone know if they sell day passes. Thanks in advance ...
