The Secretary General of SAARC, Dr. Sheel Kant Sharma, who is on a special visit to Sri Lanka at the invitation of Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, called on him at the Ministry yesterday. The Minister discussed with Dr. Sharma the work ahead for Sri Lanka, as the SAARC Chair and the modalities by which the decisions taken at the recently concluded 15th Colombo Summit are to be implemented. The Secretary General thereafter briefed the Foreign Minister on the responsibilities of the SAARC Chair. LAHORE: Tariq Sayeed, President SAARC Chamber of Commerce Industry (SAARC CCI) terming Bangladesh as a prospective regional partner of the economic cooperation in South Asia urged upon the enhancement of its role as a dynamic partner of economic integration of the region.
