The "women's" vote used to be about issues... day care, health leave, health care, pay equity. Now, it's about punishing women and dismantling their hard earned civil rights, and the right to birth control . The right has defined birth control as being abortion. Palin doesn't believe that women or girls should have birth control. She believes every raped female who gets pregnant should have to carry the child to term. She believes that telling teenage girls about condoms is morally wrong, because it prevents them from getting pregnant, and not getting pregnant is wrong if you have sex at all. Sex is only for procreation. She believes that women who get pregnant responsibly are misinformed. She is against helping pregnant women in any way as well. She believes that even though women have a responsibility to get pregnant as much as they can, the children they give birth to are better off with their fathers, since their mothers must be busy passing laws preventing other women from not getting pregnant when they are practicing "abstinence." I get it now! Read more analysis from HuffPost bloggers on Sarah Palin ...

http://www.angelinajoliewatch.com/Roseanne-Barr-apologizes-for-angelina-jolie-remarks/ Last week, Roseanne Barr made some pretty reprehensible remarks about Angelina and Brad. Looks like s day after the remarks were made she tried to clean her her mess up. With only a few weeks to go until Election Day, director/showman/clown—strike out words depending on your political preferences—Michael Moore's Slacker Uprising is now available in the internet. Created to promote vote among young people, Moore is saying that this is the first full feature film to be released for free on the web, using Blip.tv, Amazon Video on Demand, iTunes, DivX, MPEG4, and Lycos VOD. The movie follows a 60 city tour across twenty battleground states to promote voting with the objective to change the color of the current administration. It has appearances by REM, Joan Baez (Steve Jobs' former girlfriend, for those of you who are not as old as myself), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Viggo Mortensen, Roseanne Barr, and of course, Michael Moore himself, as well as a bunch of extras. Quite honestly, while I personally agree—looking from outside the US—with the need for change, I would have preffered to get the Dark Knight free in HD. [ Slacker Uprising ] ...

Posted by Jane Murphy Oh dear! Some of the grandes dames of US comedy seem to have taken a rather vehement dislike to Angelina Jolie. I wonder why that could be... The latest? Hot on the heels of Roseanne Barr's anti-Ange rant comes a damning outburst from Joan Rivers, during an appearance on GMTV. "I've worked with stupid actresses," she spat. "I've worked with Angelina Jolie. She saw a sign that said 'Wet Floor' one time, and she did! "I mean she's attractive, but not a bright girl. Stunningly beautiful but stupid... She would have asked Stevie Wonder, 'What's your favourite colour?'" So does Ange deserve to be the sudden butt of everyone's jokes - or are these loose-lipped wrinklies just jealous of her success and beauty? Tell us what you think. We all know McCain has sold his soul to win. Big mistake: the Democrats are taking the GOP bait, especially on Palin. She is the ultimate distraction. If we're not careful she'll be the final distraction. The perfect new celebrity -- Sarah Barracuda -- to capture the message in the 24-hour spin orgy, all the while attacking Obama as an elite celebrity. Any narrative that focuses on her -- any -- is a win for Republicans, carrying an undercurrent of race wars, gender wars, class wars. All ending with a debate on God and a return visit to Rev. Wright. Palin is a gateway drug to a back-alley brawl Obama can't win. A Joseph Conrad-produced reality show/sitcom with Palin replacing Roseanne Barr fighting for the little guy with sass and sex. Wonderful. Watch McCain repeat "maverick" 300 times a day, like a mantra, 'til Election Day. Republicans and hockey moms against corruption and Lear jets. Orwell for second graders: distraction and chaos, phony scandals and bullshit patriotics from the crew that would install an inexperienced neophyte -- not even put through the crucible of the national stage -- a heartbeat away from the greatest nuclear arsenal the world has ever known, and not blink. Darkest reptilian politics that speak to the ultimate calcified cynicism of Republicans. Democrats need to ignore her -- unless she speaks about policy -- maybe she can explain and solve the collapsing world markets -- and keep the focus relentlessly ...

Variety reports that the next British-to-America TV remake is ... "Absolutely Fabulous"! Jennifer Saunders (Edina, left) and Joanna Lumley (as Patsy) broke the mold as hedonistic vice-ridden middle-age chums in the BBC sitcom "Absolutely Fabulous." The Jennifer Saunders Britcom was a comedy staple for BBC from 1992 to '95. Years ago, Roseanne Barr worked on developing a U.S. version of the show with Carrie Fisher for ABC. The new Americanized version will be set in Los Angeles, with stars to be announced. Christine Zander ("Saturday Night Live") is set to write the script, and Saunders is on board as a producer. ...

I'm a bit late to this party. Last night, I just saw the most recent episode of Bill Maher's show. His guests that week were three of my least-favorite people in the world: Sir Salman Rushdie (a truly shitty, truly overrated writer), Roseanne "I Still Think It's 1989 and I'm Cool" Barr, and Janeane Garofalo. Craig Ferguson was there too, but he's downright tolerable. Now, back in the day, I was a Janeane fan. Liked her in "Reality Bites", and... ...

In October 2004, just before the United States Presidential election, Michael Moore went on a 62-city tour through the undecided states to register and rally young would-be voters to vote for a change in our country. Michael was joined on tour by some of the U.S.'s most politically involved musicians and artists, including Eddie Vedder, Steve Earle, Roseanne Barr, Joan Baez, and Viggo Mortensen (to name a few). With visits to college campuses and other venues, this documentary showcases what the filmmaker calls "the birth of a new political generation." ...

"Politics, anyone?" Miami Theatrical Premiere of MICHAEL MOORE’s Latest Documentary This is your “reminder to vote” event: Get off the couch and vote! Slacker Uprising (Michael Moore/Documentary/USA/2008) No one can make a political documentary with as much savvy, humor, and creativity as Oscar winner Michael Moore. And no one is as willing to tackle our elected officials with the same tenacity. After unleashing Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11, and SiCKO in recent years, Moore has set his sights on the Bush administration and our nation's voter turnout in his latest film, Slacker Uprising, which chronicles his 62-city swing state tour of college campuses just prior to the 2004 election. Part concert tour, part stand-up comedy performance and part rock concert, Slacker Uprising is an uplifting and patriotic look at the birth of a new political generation in America . Along with Moore's appearance, Slacker Uprising features live performances or appearances by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam), Roseanne Barr, Joan Baez, Tom Morello (of Rage Against the Machine), R.E.M., Steve Earle, and Viggo Mortensen.
