A 17-year-old freshman was caught with a loaded .38-caliber Revolver at Myers Park High this morning, police and school officials say. The gun was confiscated and the student arrested without incident around 11 a.m. It is the first time this school year a gun has been found on a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools campus, spokeswoman Cynthia Robbins said. Adrian McLeod has been charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, said Sgt. David Schwob. He said someone called CrimeStoppers to report that the student had a weapon. The school resource officer found the gun loaded with three rounds in the student's bookbag, Schwob said, and another round was in the student's pocket. McLeod was arrested in April and charged with assault and battery, a misdemeanor. He failed to appear in court on that charge in June, but ultimately pled guilty and was given a year of probation. In addition to the customary probation terms like not committing other crimes or associating with known lawbreakers, a judge set an additional condition: graduate from high school. ...
