I have ordered a few months ago Guitar Hero III from Europe (because I live there). Because I cannot order from EU store, only if I am from UK, of course I created an USA account to get PSN games. Everything is OK, I also get a few GHIII songs from USA store. Initially I was confused about why I do not see the songs what I bought, but I said, I do something wrong. Now I saw Metallica last album and I ordered (15USD) and I installed. Of course no songs in GHIII. I started to search online and I found out that USA GH songs are REGION LOCKED, so cannot be played ONLY is USA. So I cannot get from EU cause I am not in UK, I cannot get from USA because is REGION LOCKED. Nice circle. I started to ask on Activision support, they confirmed this, that is region locked, like any other DVD or games. WRONG, I ordered games from USA PSN and work. I asked for refund or transfer license to UK store, they told me to contact SONY. Sony License agreement say, nothing is refundable in PSN. So all my money is gone. Now I wondering, initially when I downloaded first ordered song and tried to install, why I did not get ANY error, like WAIT cannot be played, is region locked. All was installed without error. Same happened with a game in the past (if I am not wrong, Uncharted DEMO) said cannot be installed, so I expected to say something like this also in ADDONS. What can I say at closing? Grants out of gamers, providing fans of the rhythm genre with a more expensive, but of questionable value, edition of Guitar Hero: World Tour . For $239.99, exactly $50 more than the standard retail price, you get... a t-shirt, two recharge kits, a gig bag and a keychain? Surely, that can't be everything . It might be, as GameSpot requests didn't bear informative fruit from RedOctane reps. You may just be buying the prestige of spending more money on trinkets you'll likely rarely (or never) use. by: Sean Colleli NEWS - Yesterday on OSU campus Activision held a demo for Guitar Hero World Tour , so I checked it out between classes. On my way to morning class I snapped some shots of them setting up, putting the drum kits together and such. A couple hours later the event was in full swing with the obligatory free pizza and soda. A sizable crowd had gathered on the South Oval courtyard to check out the event, so there was no shortage of people to try their hand at the game. Thankfully there were three kiosks, two side setups and one main stage, so the lines moved pretty quickly and I got my chance to play. I took the bass guitar for a spin first, and I must say the developers have fleshed it out a lot since the 2 player co-op GH 3. In addition to the standard notes, a solid purple bar will appear along the highway. You just strum these without hitting any of the frets, to simulate the open E string on a bass guitar. The new guitar controller itself is pretty slick, with a solid weight and similar construction to the GH3 Gibson Les Paul. RedOctane might have lost their Gibson license, but the new controller has the same quality as the old ones. Me and a couple friends then went up on stage to try "Float On" by Modest Mouse, with me at the drums. I admit to being a noob and picked the easy setting, as I never played much Rock Band.
