Homosexual Activists Target California Businesses That Support Pro-marriage Proposition By Thaddeus M. Baklinski CALIFORNIA, August 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - An upstart homosexual rights group in California has begun to target not only individuals, but also companies to which they are connected, if they have contributed money to committees that support Proposition 8, the ballot initiative to ban same-sex "marriage" in California. The Wall Street Journal reports that Californians Against Hate, a new homosexual-rights group, intends to identify and publicize corporate connections to individuals that make significant donations. Fred Karger, who runs the homosexual group, said he will compile and publish... ... Source: www.prnewswire.com --- 2 days ago

When Barack Obama feeds rhetorical fishes and loaves to the multitudes tonight in the football stadium in Denver, he should deliver a message of sufficient particularity that it seems particularly suited to Americans. One more inspirational oration, one general enough to please Berliners or even his fellow "citizens of the world," will confirm Pascal's point that "continuous eloquence wearies." ... At least two propositions on California's ballot this year could have national implications, Peter Schrag argues in today's Sacramento Bee. You almost certainly guessed one: Prop 8, which would, if it fails, mark the first time an electoral majority supported the continuation of marriage equality in a state. But Prop 5, which would alter California's prison and sentencing laws to allow for more drug rehabilitation, could have national ramifications with a responsible Congress interested in making The Wire and Oz icons of an old way of doing business: "Proposition 5 expands on that idea, creates "rehabilitation wardens" in the prison system and makes possession of small amounts of marijuana an infraction, not a misdemeanor. All those changes are part of a larger strategy by Soros and his co-sponsors to radically reform U.S. drug-control policy, with its vast establishment of narcs and other drug cops, by shifting from a criminal model to a medical model, as much of Europe has done. ... If Proposition 5 passes, it could ring bells in the new Congress, elected on the same day, that Americans are ready for a new drug strategy. Congress, in its fear of being tarred as soft on drugs, has so far ignored all the other ballot measures. But given the general fatigue of right-wing ideology, the messages might be heard this time. A growing number of Americans are beginning to understand that the countless billions we're spending on tracking do ... Source: www.lifesite.net --- 1 day ago

A very important Proposition will be on the November ballot. Proposition 8 is a simple and straightforward voter initiative. It contains the same 14 words that were previously approved in 2000 by more than 61 percent of California voters: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.” I’m saddened that we have to revisit this again after the people already made their voices heard. ...
