Hollywood was up bright and early this morning for the announcement of the nominees for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards . We'd been speculating for a while about who'd be on the list, and now we know: Mad Men did indeed get a lot of love, with nominations in the Outstanding Drama Series category and several of the acting categories (though I'm sad to see that show's women shut out), while Pushing Daisies and Samantha Who? were the two new network series to break through. And this was indeed the year of the cable series, with Damages, In Treatment, Saving Grace, The Closer, Breaking Bad , and Dexter just a few of the non-network series to get significant nominations. Of course, there were also some yawners — will the Emmys never stop loving Boston Legal or Entourage ? Was Curb Your Enthusiasm even on this year?
