From the Giants Fans traveling from Manhattan to Giants Stadium will no longer be able to ride the N.J. Transit Bus No. 351 from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, because that line is no longer operating. It has been replaced by a new rail/bus shuttle service between Penn Station and the sports complex, which will be operating tomorrow, when the Giants open their 2008 regular season against the Washington Redskins. The service tomorrow will be available starting at 3:30 p.m. The new service will enable New York customers to board trains at Penn Station New York (PSNY) and transfer to waiting shuttle buses at Secaucus Junction, all for the same $10 fare they paid for the old bus service. Although Bus No. 351 was popular among fans traveling to Giants Stadium from Manhattan, New Jersey Transit discontinued the line and started the shuttle service for three reasons: 1. Ridership on Bus No. 351 has continued to grow and is now approaching levels that can no longer be supported by N.J. Transit at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. 2. On-street construction near the Port Authority Bus Terminal has limited the number of buses that can be used for Meadowlands operations. 3. To provide fans with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Secaucus Junction in advance of next year's opening of rail service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex. Regular $10 round-trip tickets will be sold at all PSNY ticket windows and ticket vending machines. Fo ...

Last Friday afternoon-into-evening, commuters leaving NYC through the Lincoln Tunnel were treated to hours of delays , because a suspicious package was left on I-495 West. It turned out to be two bottles filled with an ultimately harmless liquid, but the damage was done: Traffic was diverted to local roads in NJ, commuter bus passengers were hating their devotion to mass transit, and there were still hours of residual delays. The Post dubs the perp , "Lincoln Lunatic." Now WABC 7 wonders if someone is trying to test the Lincoln Tunnel and the Port Authority police, noting that this is just the latest bottle stunt: "The first one occurring four weeks ago, when someone placed '3 plastic heart shaped bottles' of an unknown liquid on the New Jersey side of the Lincoln Tunnel. One bottle had a 'gray wire inside' and a message, 'don't look at me.' And then again last Wednesday, two 'red sealed bottles were glued' near a lamp post." Which also gives Paul Nunziato, of the Port Authority police union, a chance to say, "I would say they're studying what's going on at the tunnel. Because they've been able to do it, 7 bottles placed on one of the busiest roadways in the world and no one sees them no one caught an eye on them, including the cameras." The union says patrols have been scaled back at the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels. ...
