According to The Sports Xchange, Broncos RB Michael Pittman has run the ball well and could be looking at getting a bigger piece of the action at tailback. Mostly Pittman has been used in situational work with a few carries in normal situations. "I think everybody saw a tough, hard-nosed runner," coach Mike Shanahan said about Pittman's performance against Tampa Bay in Week 5. "He made some plays. The better you play, the more time you're going to get." In the game, Pittman had six carries for 39 yards. He also had two catches for 22 yards as he totaled 61 yards on eight touches. His frequent goal-line touches already made him a decent low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB, and this news will only improve his value. Consider taking a flier on him if he remains unowned in your league. Broncos RB Michael Pittman had two short-yardage touchdowns in a 41-14 rout of the Raiders Week 1. Pittman plunged in from three yards in the second quarter and then again from 1-yard out in the fourth to cap the scoring for Denver. He had seven carries for 13 yards, with his longest gain being five yards. Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan used a bevy of running backs Week 1, but when his team was near the goal line, he went to the veteran Pittman to get him into the end zone. This could be a very telling trend for 2008. Pittman had his first touchdown since 2006 and has more than one score for the first time since 2004 when he had seven touchdowns with Tampa Bay.
