Owing to the new-found popularity of hybrid vehicles and the esteemed reputation of Lexus’ flagship LS series itself, the Lexus Hybrid Drive powered LS 600h L has received an expectedly frenzied reception since its unveiling in 2006. The Pebble Beach edition, launched in honor of Lexus’ new partnership with the venue for one of the world’s most prominent Concours d’Elegances, features notable safety and security upgrades. This includes the Advanced Pre-Collision System (APCS), which detects pedestrians obstructing the vehicle’s path, and a driver Monitor System that warns drivers of impending obstacles when their heads are not facing forward. This year marked the Spyder's 50th anniversary, and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance celebrated the occasion by giving the car its very own class. Six variations of the car were produced, all of which were displayed on the 18th fairway including the original prototype and a competition version that raced at both Sebring and Le Mans. La subasta comenzó en $1.7 millones y terminó registrando $2.9 que se convirtieron en un total de $3.19 con el 10% en comisiones. Otro dato interesante, fue la pantalla que mostraba los valores ofertados en dólares norteamericanos, y sus equivalentes euros, libras esterlinas y francos suizos.
