http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fU7kIqC9 ... ght-3.html QUOTE: For an industry with an enviable safety record, the emergency landing of a Qantas 747 in Manila on Friday is a big deal. Theres a huge investigation underway as to what caused the giant gash in the fuselage of QF 30 en route from Manila to Melbourne, and were working on a post examining the theory that an oxygen tank exploded, and whats happening with the ongoing investigation. http://blog.wired.com/cars/2008/07/qantas-flight-3.html Crazy to watch, but those pilots did an excellent job at getting that airplane on the ground. The passengers remained relatively calm too. Topic Replies: 1 ...

Azerbaijan Airlines today announced an order for two Boeing 737-900ER single-aisle jets and two wide-bodied 767-300ER Passenger planes. The 767s were the first Passenger versions of that aircraft ordered since January 2007 when LAN Airlines of Chile ordered three. The 767 order came at the expense of the order book for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner. Azerbaijan canceled an order for one 787 and substituted an order for one of the 767s. The 787 production line is running 15 months behind schedule. For an airline needing mid-sized capacity sooner than Boeing can deliver the 787, the 767 is an alternative. While neither Boeing nor Azerbaijan discussed prices, I suspect the ailine got a deal on the 767. Azerbaijan still has orders for two 787-8s on the books. ... A Passenger aboard a boat in the Kaskaskia River is seeking in excess of $200,000 in damages from a Jet skier who threw water on her. Tanya Lewis also alleges Nathan Marlen charged the boat she was in "in such a fashion to cause plaintiff to reasonably believe the defendant was going to commit an additional battery by again throwing water upon her," says the lawsuit filed July 22 in St. Clair County. The four-count lawsuit seeks damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, assault and battery. Lewis claims Marlen charged the boat at a high rate of speed "and in such a fashion as to cause those upon the boat...to believe that he was going to 'ram' the boat with the Jet ski." She also claims he threatened passengers on the boat with the use of a gun. The incident took place July 22, 2006, the suit claims. "As a direct and proximate result of one or more of the acts of the defendant alleged herein-above the plaintiff was damaged in that she suffered mental anguish and severe emotional distress," the complaint states. Lewis is represented by Jeffery A. Cain of Freeark, Harvey, Mendillo, Dennis, Wuller, Cain & Murphy of Belleville. ... Find more results for Passenger Jet on RSSMicro.com |
