Peter Skerritt in his July 26 Letter to the Editor wrote "No police department enforces handicap Parking violations. ..." Both the Sparks and Reno police departments enforce handicapped Parking Laws and issue citations. In both departments, the enforcement is conducted by citizen volunteers who are trained for this patrol assignment. In Sparks, there are approximately 100 citizens in the volunteer program, 20 of whom are part of the Handicapped Parking Enforcement Program. CHARLESTON LEGISLATOR CREATES OWN SPACE, SCREW EMS I’m so glad that Sen. Robert Ford is named after the guy who allegedly shot and killed the outlaw Jesse James whom Hollywood recently portrayed in a popular movie because that means I can use some variation of that headline for pretty much anything the Charleston Democrat does. Like if he tells you that you are dying of cancer: The Assassination of Hope by the Senator Robert Ford. Or he attends a ZZ Top concert: The Assassination of a Mean Air Guitar by the Senator Robert Ford. Or he goes out to dinner at Sticky Fingers: The Assassination of a Hickory Smoked Rack of Ribs by the Senator Robert Ford. In this case, it was cleverly Parking in a fire lane near the shopping center in West Ashley hoping no one would notice his “inconspicuous” legislative tags. Unfortunately for him though, someone did and sent a picture to the Charleston Post and Courier . That spurred a wave of letters to the editor last week condemning the senator’s actions. “It is quite obvious that he is like many of our elected officials and believes he is above the law,” said one reader. “I wonder what other Laws Sen. Ford believes it’s OK to break.” Ford’s response? “Every person in the country does it,” he told the Post and Courier . “Whatever, I’ve got no problem with it. If someone does, tell them to go call the tow truck or police.” He’s right. Who cares? It’s not like there was a fire. And even if there was a blaz ...

The Citizen has submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the MBTA to release the details of plans submitted for a Parking garage near Beverly Depot. T spokesman Joe Pesaturo said the proposals are not public and are protected by exemptions in the public records Laws for deliberative process and real estate transactions. In the letter, sent on Tuesday, the Citizen said exemptions to the public records law do not apply in this case, since the deadline for submissions has passed. Also, the real estate exemption also did not apply, the Citizen told the T, since the request said the price could be redacted. The request asked for the names of the companies, groups or individuals that submitted proposals, the suggested location and the details of what could be built. On Tuesday, Pesaturo said the request had been forwarded to the T’s attorney that handles public records requests. By law, the T has 10 days to reply to the request or explain in writing why it has been refused. ... Source: TheState.com --- 16 days ago
Columbia’s Code Enforcement Task Force will recommend a series of code changes at Wednesday’s City Council meeting, including: Payday lenders: Change the zoning Laws so that payday lenders cannot operate within a half-mile of each other Absentee landlords: Require all landlords to apply for a business license and to disclose how many properties they and their family members own as well as local contact information Garbage roll carts : Crack down on people who put their carts on the street too early; the proposal would reduce the number of warnings before a roll cart is removed from two to one. |Bunsutil69: STONY MOUNTAIN, Manitoba - A 15-year-old boy working on a construction site just north of Winnipeg, Manitoba, died Friday after he was buried under a mountain of searing-hot asphalt, fire officials said. The boy, too young to work on construction jobs under Manitoba labor Laws, was part of a paving crew working on a Parking lot in the Winnipeg community of Stony Mountain. With the city again searching for funds to keep police and fire departments staffed, why has it not been considered to enforce Laws on the books? Despite the Canadian Football League's presence in Toronto, public intoxication Laws mean tailgating parties are not a part of Canadian football culture. So when American football came to town Thursday for a first-ever NFL game held at the Rogers Centre , Budweiser sponsored a free tailgate party—attended by more than 3,200 fans—in a Parking lot at Front Street and Blue Jays Way. "Obviously, if there's football, there's Budweiser, so it was a huge opportunity for us to play our role in this historic NFL event," said Kyle Norrington, national marketing manager for Budweiser in Canada. Ok, you have to admit, this was pretty good : And of course, the biggie: how do they handle the three CBs? I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a "slash" put up there. Thanks to reader johnnyshaka for posting the link to the new chart on PE.com . Check that out. Scroll down a bit ... a little further ... past the linebackers ... and there it is: Not too shabby. And in merely alphabetical order, I'm sure. As for the rest of the predictions: Winston Justice will only be listed as the first backup at right tackle, not both positions Avant and Baskett the #2s, Jackson and Lewis the #3s Davis, Lawton, Collins Andrews will still have his spot Parker, Abiamiri (why create controversy now) Reed ahead of Demps (Quintin #2 doesn't need any more confidence) Klecko/Laws and Reagor/Kimo In order: Yes on this one, but the Eagles always like to fill out the early charts with different names, even if putting one guy at two positions better reflects reality. In this case, though, I think the reality is that King Dunlap has more of a future at LT than Winston Justice does. That's not going to bode well for my other predictions about Justice that you can can go Google yourself. Bzzzzt. Michael Gasperson is listed ahead of DeSean Jackson. This despite the fact that if you think Gasperson has any chance of making this team ahead of Jackson, I've got some "covered Parking" "at" the Linc you might be interested in "leasing." Yes, but not much of a surprise ... Find more results for Parking Laws on RSSMicro.com |
