Panasonic have added three new digital set-top boxes to their product range, which are scheduled to be released in Japan in May. The TZ-HDW600M, TZ-HDW600F and TZ-HDW600P are all CATV equipped and feature built-in 250GB hard disks to record your favourite programmes or pause TV whilst you make yourself a cup of tea. The models also feature internet connectivity for access to various on-demand services such as Youtube. Furthermore video can be streamed to the device from your PC or other DLNA equipped device. A compact design, less packaging and with eco-standby and auto-off power saving features, these three new tuners are Panasonic’s most eco-friendly yet. Panasonic said Wednesday that it sold the world’s first 3-D home entertainment system at a Manhattan Best Buy. Officially known as the Panasonic Full HD 3-D Plasma Home Theater System (just rolls right off the tongue!), it sells for $2,900. And no cheap reusable glasses nonsense here; the system comes with (just one pair of) “Panasonic 3-D active shutter lens eyewear” - additional pairs cost $149.95 apiece. "3-D has invigorated the theater experience, and it will be the same for the living room," said Mary Daily, a 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment executive. "3-D will become a game changer for the home entertainment industry." Beginning today, customers at Best Buy's Magnolia stores can pick up that Panasonic full HD 3D Home Entertainment System the kids in Japan have been going crazy over for the last month or so. Consisting of a 50-inch Viera VT20 HDTV, a BDT300 Blu-ray Disc Player, and but one pair of Panasonic 3D Active Shutter glasses, the total price is is $2900 -- but if you plan on having company over you'll need to pick up additional pairs of 3D eyewear for $150 each. As you well know, Panny is due to start sponsoring free 3D programming to DirecTV HD customers starting in June, so if you're not set up with the service you might as well add that to your shopping list. The Japanese MNC, makers of the popular Viera HDTV line has launched its 3D TVs. The same shall go for sale in US later during the week. This technological marvel - VT25 plasma HDTV would be made available with Best Buy as a joint promotional effort from Wednesday. Electronics retailer Best Buy has partnered up with Japanese multinational electronics corporation regarding the sale of its first bundle of television sets with 3D features. The TV set bundle costs $2,899.99 and includes a 50-inch plasma 3D Viera set, a 3D compatible Blu-Ray Disc player and a single pair of 3D glasses. The bundle is being sold exclusively at Best Buy. The launch was conducted in Manhattan Union Square. A couple who was offered the bundle before the event bought the first set. Including the taxes, they paid a total of $3,100. This is not the first partnership when it comes to 3D TV however. Samsung had a deal also with Best Buy for its own 3D TV bundle. Samsung also recently launched 3D Blu-Ray players and an electronic reader named E6 for electronic books. The main problem however with 3D TV is the still limited resources where shows and films feature 3D technology. Panasonic and DirecTV plans to launch 2 broadcast channels and 1 Video on demand channel with 3D content by June 2010.
