Auf PalmInfocenter bzw. Shadowmite ist ein erstes, vielleicht echtes Foto des Treo 800w aufgetaucht. Das Foto stimmt stark mit vorherigen Bildern überein und hat Ähnlichkeiten mit dem Palm Centro bzw. Treo 500v. Das Gerät soll zudem über einen neuen Mikro USB Anschluss verfügen. Si le Treo 500v ne marque pas la renaissance de Palm, il permet au constructeur de sortir un smartphone conforme aux standards actuels pour rester un peu dans le coup. Si le design a évolué par rapport aux anciens Treo 750v et 680, sur le plan technique, on notera qu'il tourne sous Windows Mobile 6 Standard ce qui veut dire que l'écran n'est pas tactile ce qui est une première chez Palm. Tous les anciens modèles étaient tactiles. Pour le reste, il ne manque rien à part le Wi-Fi. Décidemment, Palm ne veut pas sortir un smartphone équipé du sans-fil. And not only did they update three currently existing versions of their software client, but they also added support for a few new devices, namely the Nokia N95 8GB, the Treo 500v, and the Samsung i760. Streaming has also been optimized on select handsets, and one such is the Sprint Mogul. Interestingly enough, though, the SlingPlayer Mobile software client on the Palm OS has not been upgraded yet like the other clients. To download the latest version of SlingPlayer Mobile, all you have to do is log on to Sling Media’s web site and click on the appropriate links. You won’t be needing to fork out any money because the download for the upgrades are free, unless of course if you’re not already an existing customer, at which case you’d have to pay $30 per handset. And don’t forget you also need a Slingbox set up in your home (or any place you stay) for all this to work. So unless you do and you’re willing to pay for the hardware (and software, for new customers), don’t be dreaming up about this right now, thinking that things will magically appear out of nowhere. Hallo, Wie kan mij helpen met het volgende probleem. Ik heb net een Palm Treo 500v aangeschaft en probeer nu de synchronisatie met mijn PC Vista met Office 2007 operationeel te krijgen. Ik kan de Palm gewoon met de USB kabel koppelen. De verbinding komt tot stand en kan mijn foto's en video's via deze koppeling synchroniseren. Maar wanneer ik de synchronisatie met mijn contactpersonen en andere gegevens uit outlook start dan krijg ik de melding: Er is een probleem met uw verbinding. Maak opnieuw verbinding met het apparaat en probeer het nogmaals. Ik heb dit meerdere malen geprobeert, computer opnieuw opgestart, Palm opnieuw opgestart. Instructies uit het manual problem solving uitgevoerd. Maar ik blijf met deze melding zitten. Is er hier misschien iemand die hetzelfde overkomen is maar dit op heeft kunnen lossen. Now, O2 UK has selceted Palm's first Windows Mobile Standard for its business customers as well. The Palm Treo 500 smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard and has a full QWERTY keyboard, QVGA screen and supports triband GSM/GPRS at 900/1800/199 MHz and singleband UMTS at 2100 MHz (but not HSDPA). Sling Media today announced the availability of its previously unveiled SlingPlayer Mobile uppdate for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs (aka Professional and Classic), Windows Mobile Smartphone (aka Standard) and Symbian S60 smartphones. The SlingPlayer Mobile clients are required to watch and control home television programming from anywhere in the world via a Slingbox. These new versions add support for additional handsets (for example the Samsung SGH-i760, the Palm Treo 500/500v and the Nokia N95 8GB), improved video streaming quality on select handsets (like the Sprint HTC Mogul), add support for additional set-top boxes, provide additional channel favorite logos and some few under the hood tweaks. The LiMo foundation announced the new Motorola ROKR EM30 mobile phone, apparently the 22nd handset model based on the LiMo platform. LiMo, for those who came in late, is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices. You may also remember the Moto ROKR as being one of their music phones, and the EM30 is no different: Motorola claims compelling music features. The ROKR EM30 will launch first in Taiwan and other markets are expected to follow later. With an LCD display, D-pad navigation and integrated GPS functionality, users can take advantage of any available location based services. The phone uses ModeShift technology to illuminate the keyboard - red keys illuminate in music mode and blue while in phone mode. With Radio Data System in place, users can know the artist and song playing on the built-in FM radio. The phone features a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. Motorola has a new PEBL phone for the Korean market. The new PEBL will be offered by SK Telecom and it will feature fast 3G connections with HSDPA speeds of 7.2MBps. Other than 3G there’s not much really: a 3.5 mm headset jack, an Mp3 player, a 2.0 megapixels camera and Bluetooth connectivity. I'm not sure I like this new form factor Palm is using but here is a Smartphone version. Unfortunately it is only Tri-Band. I wonder how much extra the cost is to just make them all Quad-band and end this problem for us customers state side! This is especially true now that carriers seem to be jumping on the unlocking bandwagon.
