Hellboy: The Science Of Evil Xbox 360 (reviewed), PS3, PSP Arriving in tandem with Guillermo del Toro's visceral Hollywood sequel, Hellboy, with his red eyes, horn stumps and long tail, does appear to cut an unlikely figure as a hero, which is at least part of what might be called his charm. In the game at least. The other part is Ron Perlman's splendid vocal skill, which stands out as a single chink of light in an otherwise depressingly Standard pound 'em-up that follows every other half-arsed movie tie-in straight round the U-bend. In this Paint by numbers setup you control Hellboy, bereft of co-stars and supporting characters, smashing his way to victory by hammering the punch and kick buttons. Overcome all obstacles by repeatedly tapping X to get the big orange fella to smash, lift or prise apart whatever irrelevancy happens to be in your way before continuing to the next lifeless fist fight. Its murky, mostly mud brown environments do little to lighten the mood in this wilfully prosaic, invention-free bore fest of underwrought violence. Oh Konami, for shame. • Konami, £39.99 Driving Theory Training Nintendo DS Continuing Nintendo's recent innovation of making software for self-improvement that isn't really a game but is still marketed as though it is (Brain Training, Wii Fit, the abysmal and utterly pointless Sight Training), Driving Theory Training contains everything you need to know to pass the written part of a UK drivin ... Nike's limited edition 2015 variant of the Hyperdunk Supremes just got here. The sneakers aren't just pretty — they're incredibly light for a high top at 13-ounces. The translucent rubberized upper has threads running through it at a crosspattern. Nike calls it Flywire tech, but I also recognize the idea from professional sailboat race sails, which run kevlar through the material to give it resistance to stretching and tearing, as well as more tensile strength. The sole has a sliver of carbon fiber running through it, too. Then the super nerdy and awesome Back to the Future references begin. The box itself has 2015 on its side, and the slide out inner chamber is patterned like Marty's hoverboard. The wrapping paper inside has the words "great scott!" on them. And the sneakers come with hoverboard pink laces with blue tips. The sneakers themselves are Standard hyperdunks with a few notable differences. The Nike logo on the back is the same font and color as the sneakers in BTTF2. The grey sides of the soles have blue Paint specs on them, as in the movie. The uppers have triangular loops, deemphasized versions of the ultra high tops on the movie version. The lateral edge of the shoe is glow in the dark. The midsole has a pink and green hoverboard design, and if you lift it out, there's a flux capacitor logo underneath it on the heel. The tongue of the shoe has orange/red Back to the Future arrows, and three dates and times as they m ... Source: gizmodo.com --- 34 days ago

Forum: Autodesk Maya Posted By: warmcup Post Time: 08-06-2008 at 11:09 PM Text: Hi there, I've been lurking these forums for quite some time now and have absorbed a plethora of hints and help just by reading other peoples' problems and solutions. So, thanks to those experts who share their vast knowledge! I have started using Shave and a Haircut to build some grass and hair for a project I'm working on. I've done some test renders in mental ray and noticed something very strange with the geometry in front of the Shave hair. The following image illustrates the problem... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...enders_mr19.png Looking closely at the edges of the red and blue spheres, the Shave hair seems to display through the geometry, despite the spheres being far from the actual surface. I've done a quick search around the forums and couldn't find anyone else with this problem. The spheres have Standard lambert shaders attached... nothing special to them, no transparency, etc. I rendered in mental ray, Standard Production settings. Another issue I had with this particular test render was when I was testing Shave hair with Paint effects and compositing. After reading around, I've decided to render some trees I've made in Paint effects using Maya Software and compositing them with the rest of my scene rendered in mental ray. In my first render, I'm using Maya Software to render my PFX tree, with 3D cast fake shadow turned on, and all geome ... Source: www.pistonheads.com --- 34 days ago
Here for sale is a car at a staggering low price. It is an subaru impreza wrx genuwine sti version 8 model that is completely Standard and an unmolested example. The car is presented in the lovely Sonic Blue Mica (the best colour to have!) The reason why this car is at this bargain price is that the car has been previously damaged and now is repaired and in everyday use. The car is recorded under the hpi register as Category D. I bought the car repaired so i don't know what the extent of the damage was. I have been told by the previous owner the damage was to the rear. The car was fully resprayed, however if you look carefully there are places where there has been a bit of overspray. The Paint work polish has a nice shine to it. There is the odd ding, and stone chip which is almost impossible to avoid! The engine ticks over like clockwork and still even has the Standard airbox! The air conditioning blows ice cold! The gearbox is tight, and there are no signs of the clutch slipping. The car had a full service in January 2008 and also the car does have service history. The car has brembo brakes, has full Standard sti suspension. This car is exactly the way it left the factory. Its not been modified like a lot of cars which in my opinion spoils the car. It is quite hard to find a Standard sti 8. The tyres have plenty of grip left, and the alloys have the odd mark. There interior is unmraked and the bolsters are in good condition. The ...

President Bush on Thursday signed consumer-safety legislation that bans lead from children's toys, imposing the toughest Standard in the world. The new law prohibits lead, beyond minute levels, in products for children 12 or younger. Lead Paint was a major factor in the recall of 45 million toys and children's items last year, many from China. Both houses of Congress approved the bill by overwhelming margins two weeks ago. The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates there are about 28,000 deaths each year linked to unsafe products, including toys, in the United States. More than 33 million people were injured last year by consumer products. The bill also bans a chemical called phthalates that is widely used to make plastic products softer and more flexible. ... Price: 1,700 yen Manufacturer: Italeri Release Date: Jul 2008 Type: Injection Description: This model of the original Harrier "jump-jet" is a well-done re-boxing of the Esci kit. The box displays two schemes to Paint your awesome new Harrier with, the No. 1 Squadron from Norway in the winter of 1986, and the No. 4 Squadron from HMS Hermes stationed in Cottesmore in 1982, and includes the decals for these schemes. The Harrier was the only fully functional V/STOL aircraft until the CV-22 Osprey was completed. It has an excellently designed thrust directing system which has been quite reliable. Though not as heavy a fighter as some of the Standard attack aircraft. thanks to its VTOL ability it has the maneuverability to make up for its relatively light payload. The first generation Harrier proved its usefulness during the Falklands Conflict, and the newer versions are still holding their own today. ...

A Japanese company called Asahipen developed a special kind of Paint that is capable of blocking sunlight in order to keep room temperatures low. Aimed specifically at the market for residential housing, the so-called Shinatsu (heat shield) Paint [JP] is about 30% more expensive than Standard Paint in Japan, costing $100 per 5-liter can. Following up on the mystery Ferrari mule we spotted a few weeks back, these new and exciting spy shots show the very first stages of a development program that should ultimately lead to a successor for the Enzo–currently code named the FX70. Housed in the shell of a F430 Scuderia, the keys to the ultra-supercar hidden inside can be seen with a massive, Murcielago-style center-mounted exhaust, a wider track, and suspiciously upgraded rear wheels and tires. Our photogs on the scene also tell us that the FX70 mule sounds pretty amazing, further hinting at the potential under the deck lid. Ferrari is working on two separate engine alternatives for the neo Enzo, a twin-turbo V-8 capable of roughly 700 horsepower, and a twin-turbo V-12 which should make 50 to 100 horsepower more. Despite the obvious cache of rocking a supercar-Standard twelve-cylinder engine, we’d expect the times and temperament of the current automotive climate to push Ferrari towards the V-8. More as we know it. Have a look at the FX70 mule in the gallery above or scroll down to read the shooter’s own words. NO, this is not the Ferrari 430 Scruderia, that Michael Schumacher crashed some weeks ago, that’s been badly repaired and got a re-Paint. This 430 is a mule for the upcoming Enzo successor. We can notice that the track is wider and the wheelbase is slightly longer. In the rear, the first thing that really caught our eyes is the massive Murcielago looking exhaust p ...
