It wasn't an official military assessment, but retired Gen. John Abizaid's remarks at a Marine Corps University conference last week appeared to echo the thinking of at least some in the upper echelons of the U.S. military: Israel is incapable of seriously damaging Iran's nuclear Program. Abizaid, who oversaw military operations in the Middle East as head of U.S. Central Command until 18 months ago, caused a stir last year by publicly asserting the United States could live with a nuclear-armed Iran through a strategy of cold-war-style deterrence. Last week, when asked to reflect on the possible consequences of an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, Abizaid said he doubted whether "the Israelis have the capability to make a lasting impression on the Iranian nuclear Program with their military capabilities." Iran said Saturday that its nuclear Program remains unchanged, indicating that Tehran has no plans to meet a key Western demand that it stop enriching uranium. The announcement came a day after Iran sent the European Union its response --- which has not been made public --- to an international proposal to curb its Program in exchange for economic incentives. Wiibrew developer Nuke is working overtime, with update after update for GeckoOS. Each update of the debugger (or cheat Program, whichever) seems to contain great new features. This version sports a new Extra Rebooter options which let you boot import games with no modchip required. A major update for the Wii's GeckoOS! The homebrew is now combined with Ocarina, the stand-alone Wii(RD) code handler. Essentially, it acts as a GameShark for the Wii, letting you search for cheat codes stored in your SD card. In case you're not familiar with GeckoOS, it's a Program that lets you load Wii games from other regions. According to Nuke, author of GeckoOS, this is not a major release, but a lot of bugs have been fixed, and with its combination with Ocarina, you may still want to grab it though. Here's what's new and what's been fixed: Things fixed. Gamecube Games / Imports now supported (thanks bushing !) Date and Time issue fixed in games like Wii Sports, Brawl. Glitching games fixed, i.e Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Metroid Prime 3 etc. Sound fixed in Twilight Princess when using Gecko OS, WiiRD SD Card bug fixed. Now you can still access the SD Card when using ocarina. Disabled Wiimote when going in GC mode to avoid battery drainage. Added. Ocarina (thanks Link) Some Extra hook types. Turn Off and On Ocarina. Wiibrew dev Nuke has released the latest version of GeckoOS. This is only a minor release that corrects a sorta-bug in the previous version. While version 1.07a allowed you to copy games with the "no copy" flag, it seems that the copy itself still had the flag toggled and so was unable to be copied back to the Wii. In case you're not familiar with GeckoOS, it's a Wiibrew Program that lets you load Wii games from other regions, but was was combined with Ocarina in version 1.06f and now lets you apply cheat codes to games. Here's the changelog for this version: No copy flag bit in saves now removed when copying no copy flag save games. In previous version you could copy no copy saves but it left the no copy flag bit in the save so unless you used a Hex editor you couldn't copy the save game back to your Wii. Now this bit is removed when you copy the save over. Thanks Kenobi for this patch. You need the rebooter to copy no copy saves to SD card, but of course you can copy them back without rebooter loaded just like any other standard save.
