Filed under: Gaming It didn't exactly launch with much fanfare but, as anyone's who's already flipped on their Wii today will know, the Nintendo Channel is now live. There you'll find easy access to a range of videos, recommendations for new games based on the games you've played (if you give consent for such nosiness) and, of course, game demos you can download to your DS (there's eight of those right now). If you somehow haven't already left for your Wii, you can find a guided tour of the new service courtesy of the fine folks at Joystiq by hitting up the link below. Filed under: Nintendo Wii Five days before we thought it would be arriving , the Nintendo Channel has just been released onto unsuspecting Wiis. We're currently feverishly downloading it, so we can't give you the skinny just yet, but we know that it allows users to write reviews for WiiWare titles they've played and provides sortable lists of upcoming games. The update also includes DS demos that will live on the system's brain until it get shut off when, like the Memento guy, it will forget the whole thing ever happened. We'll be back soon with a full run down of what's on the Channel. Permalink  |  Email this  |  Comments ...

Filed under: Features , Nintendo Wii , Galleries Many of you have probably already dug right into Nintendo's new Wii offering , the appropriately titled Nintendo Channel. For those of you who haven't grabbed it from the Wii Shop Channel though, we'd like to humbly present our guided photo tour of the service . Maybe it's because the menus aren't hyper-intuitive or maybe it was because we thought some of you would be stuck at work and would like to see what that pulsating blue light boded for you when you returned home. Or maybe we just like taking pictures of our television. Either way, the fruits of our labor await. %Gallery-22310% Read  |  Permalink  |  Email this  |  Comments SPONSORED BY: Age of Empires III - Real-Time Strategy Game Control a European power on a quest to colonize and conquer the New World. The Nintendo Channel is up and ready for your download pleasure.  Some features include, the ability to link directly to retailer websites in order to buy new games, and DS demos.  The demos are temporary downloads that disappear once you turn off your DS.  The current demo list includes: Brain Age 2 Flash Focus CorssworDS Jam Sessions Raving Rabbids 2 Cooking Mama 2 Disney Friends Ninja Gaiden DS Not a bad crop of demos.  Some people may find the file size a bit too large (123 blocks to download, plus another 126 for saving stuff) as I have all ready read a few community comments about having to delete other channels just to have the space on their Wii for this one.  But so far the overall reaction has been more than positive.  It makes me wonder if Nintendo actually has a storage solution planned once Wiiware titles start showing up on a regular basis.  I hope they do. ...
