New YORK (MarketWatch) -- Wyndham Worldwide forecast third-quarter profit of 78 cents to 80 cents a share. Excluding costs, profit would be 80 cents to 82 cents a share, the company said Monday. If so, then you should be able to take "Ownership" of the files as an administrator. Thus, it might help if you tell us specifically what you mean when you say you cannot access the files. Can you get to the files but then get an error message when you try to open them? Can you not even get to/see the files (i.e. is there just a missing chunk of 70 GB on the drive)? ...

Municipal distributors and electric cooperatives that purchase wholesale power from the federal Tennessee Valley Authority will for the first time buy a stake in a TVA power plant, according to a filing with the government Monday. The Seven States Power Corp. has secured loans to buy a majority interest in TVA's combined-cycle combustion turbine plant in Southhaven, Miss., Knoxville-based TVA told the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday. Seven States will pay $325 million for a nearly 70 percent stake in Southhaven, an 810-megawatt plant capable of supporting about 473,000 homes. TVA, created in 1933, has never shared asset Ownership before. But Seven States is no ordinary investor. It is a nonprofit creation of the Chattanooga-based Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, which represents TVA's 159 distributors in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. Musical artists have banded together to create the Featured Artists’ Coalition in order to demand greater control and Ownership over music that’s distributed online and, more importantly, for a larger cut of the revenue pie. While it's easier to determine who gets what when a physical CD is sold through a retailer, things become stickier when you’re looking at individual tune downloads sold through various Websites. It’s like déjà vu with the Hollywood Writer’s Strike, which just took place late last year, and which centred around, among other issues, video content distribution online. The organization is asking, among other things, that artists always retain Ownership of their work, that all agreements are conducted in a “fair manner” (you mean this isn’t the case now?), and that artists must always be informed on how their work will be exploited. Recently, for example, artist Jack White wrote a song for the New James Bond flick, which was then reportedly unbeknownst to him released first in a Coca Cola commercial. Artists are also asking that copyright be by license, not by assignment, and be limited to 35 years. DuPage County Recorder Fred Bucholz recently introduced a program to notify residents when Ownership of their property is transferred, a technique commonly used to defraud owners of their land. By filing a document called a quitclaim deed, people can claim Ownership of property that does not belong to them, often without the owner’s knowledge. What’s a quitclaim deed? A document that transfers any claim a person has over a piece of property to another person without any guarantee that the first person owns the property. She has three pits and one chihuahua, Lily. But the pit bull comparison has to do with animals that owners tend to reject and send off to their local animal shelter. In recent months, shelters have experienced an increase in the number of small dog breeds brought in. Now that Citigroup (C) has botched its takeover of Wachovia (WB) it hopes to turn to the US court system to be its savior. Wells Fargo (WFC) moved in under the cover of night and got Wachovia to agree to merge with it. Citi though it had a firm deal of its own with WB. Citi took at baby step toward derailing Well Fargo. According to the FT, "Citigroup Inc said it won a court order late on Saturday blocking Wells Fargo & Co. from buying hobbled U.S. bank Wachovia Corp until the court rules otherwise." Now, Citi can fiddle while Rome burns. Wachovia is extremely troubled, weighed down by toxic assets and mortgage loans. Before the offer from the New York bank to take it over, WB shares had fallen to under $2 from a 52-week high of $52.25. Both Citi and Wells Fargo risk watching their prey destroyed as they fight over Ownership. Several large financial institutions from Fannie Mae (FNM) to Washington Mutual have already fallen and been auctioned off or nationalized. Wachovia appeared to be the next company on that list.
