Source: garyfouse.blogspot.com --- 16 days ago Senator Bernie Sanders (S-VT)-yes, he is a socialist, outdid himself Tuesday when he launched into a tirade about Global Warming and compared skeptics to those in the 1930s who didn't regard Hitler as a threat. Here he is: So if I understand the senator/scientist, global warming is "real", and those who are not so sure or disagree are modern-day Neville Chamberlains who are going to cause people to die by the millions. Did I get that right, Bernie? Now, I have been accused of using Hitler and the Nazis to make my points. Usually, I am doing so out of sarcastic humor-with all due apologies to those that point out, rightfully, that there is nothing funny about Hitler. I have also used the comparison very seriously to point out the dangers of radical, militant Islam, shariah and terrorism. In that sense, I agree that we are back in 1930s Europe. I have never heard Bernie talk about that issue, however. In this clip, Bernie is trying to be serious. Unfortunately for him, he is making himself look like a joke-which, of course, he is. ...
Source: bokertov.typepad.com --- 16 days ago Joel Pollak at The Jerusalem Post: At the moment of greatest danger, American policy on Iran is incoherent. The Obama administration has wasted a year on fruitless gestures of appeasement. Meanwhile, Iran has built thousands of nuclear centrifuges and tested medium-range missiles capable of targeting Europe and Israel. The regime has also crushed protests and consolidated its power while the White House continues to dither. Iran is violating three binding UN Security Council resolutions - 1696, 1747 and 1803 - that prohibit it from enriching uranium. Instead of enforcing them, the Obama administration has offered to help. Its proposal last... ...
Source: www.oedilf.com --- 22 days ago As to Chamberlain , let me say I'm Not so sure he committed a crime, But his "Hitler, old chap, Let us not have a flap" Didn't get us much peace in our time. NevilleChamberlain (1869–1940) was Prime Minister of Great Britain (1937–1940). His policy of appeasement towards Germany and Italy culminated in the Munich Agreement by which Britain and France, under pressure from the German Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, accepted that the Czech region of the Sudetenland should be ceded to Germany. His phrase "peace in our time," used upon his return from Munich, is often quoted today as a grim reminder of how political appeasement can lead to escalating aggression, as was the case in World War II. ...
Source: au-nord.blogspot.com --- 37 days ago Source: Cracked.com Probably the most hilarious thing to come out of recent politics is an MSNBC news clip of a clearly crazy right-wing commentator screaming that Obama as president would likely be "an appeaser" just like that filthy NevilleChamberlain was in World War II... until he was asked what specifically Chamberlain did, then the man had to admit he had no idea. The point is, the association of Chamberlain with spineless foreign policy is so strong that it's quoted by people who don't remember elementary school history classes well enough to know who he was. All because during the rise of the Third Reich, Prime Minister Chamberlain was sent to meet with the most sinister, evil man in all of history. Instead of returning shaken from coming so close to the true depth of mankind's depravity and demanding all of Germany be razed, he came back and declared that, in exchange for giving Hitler small chunks of Europe, there would surely be "peace in our time." That's right: He met Hitler and came out of it thinking that, if anything, the man should have more control. History would eventually prove Chamberlain to be "hilariously wrong" (or would have if there wasn't so much genocide involved), and his name is now invoked as a curse any time anyone ever suggests negotiating with an enemy rather than immediately bombing them off the map. Not Remembered For: Everything Else He Did. Before winning the Prime Minister position, Chamberlain was a ...
