Thanks to a price cut and the release of a new Square Enix RPG, the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 in Japan for the first time. This is news because, although Microsofts console sells great everywhere else, it has sucked hind tit in Japan since it launched there. Can they keep it up? 'Tis the season to get yourself a new controller, what with all the co-op and multiplayer action coming to the Xbox 360 over the next few weeks, and Microsoft is happy to tempt you with its new limited edition red wireless controller. Oh, it's not just red, it even includes "newly designed black accents," meaning it coordinates nicely with a pair of old school Air Jordans. Microsoft has posted some new details and pictures on their Gamerscore Blog of the newly revamped Xbox Live Marketplace Games Store, which will be made available with the "New Xbox Experience" dashboard overhaul before the end of the year. Along with completely changing the navigation to work like the other menus in the new dashboard, the main focus of the revamp seems to be on adding more information that's easier to access for each game. While in the current Games Store you only see basic info like a game's title, ESRB rating, and a short description, the new Games Store will add a host of additional and expanded information. "You will be able to check out screenshots of the game, watch trailers and read the back-of-the-box description like you are shopping at a retail store," explains the blog post. Each "game page," of sorts, will also feature every download available for that game, including previews, trailers, gamerpics, downloadable content, themes, images, etc. Microsoft also posted a number of images of the new Games Store, with some compared to images of the old store (just for extra impact, we suppose). They still haven't announced an exact date for when the New Xbox Experience will launch, but for now, feel free to check out the images below. ...
We’ve been hearing for quite some time now that Microsoft would be releasing a brand new Xbox Experience. But now, we’re finally getting a good look at it, or at the very least a sneak peek. While a few images have leaked prior to this of the Experience, we’re now getting a look at the Games Store and what updates have been implemented. It’s hard to get an idea from just a few pictures, but it seems to us that the overall appearance is more organized. Plus, you will get to view all downloadable content for any one game in one convenient place. This makes sense and is no doubt a result of listening to consumer opinions. Unfortunately for now we don’t know when this will be released, but we can’t help but think with the vast number of image leaks lately that it would have to be pretty soon.
