Actress Fran Drescher will be guest starring on next week's episode of HBO's Entourage , on Sunday at 10pm. Fellow Entourage stars Rex Lee (Llyod) and Perrey Reeves (Mrs. Ari) stopped by the studio last week. Former Entourage guest star Carla Gugino also made a visit to the CW11 studio today to talk about her latest film, but is expected to reprise her role on the show later this season. Drescher is best remembered as Fran Fine, the main character of the 1990 hit series The Nanny . Off screen, Drescher founded Cancer Schmancer , also the name of her book, to help ensure that women's cancer is detected during Stage 1, when it is most treatable. I know what I'm buying my friends and family for the holidays. Thanks to Laura over at Required Elements , she alerted us to Sports Illustrated: Athlete (Sports Illustrated) , a book of photos recently published by noted sports photographer Walter Iooss Jr. The compilation of 150 images shows all our favorite sports icons, from Michael Jordan (who wrote the forward), Steffi Graf, Serena Williams, Lance Armstrong, Kobe Bryant, Michelle Kwan ( see above ), and many others, in posed as well as unguarded moments. Doesn't Michelle look absolutely ethereal in the photo? I'm so used to seeing photos of skaters at a rink, on the ice, against a bright background, while performing a jump or spin. It's striking to see Michelle holding this beautiful pose against a completely different type of backdrop and it's very dramatic. I wonder where Iooss got the inspiration to photograph her in this setting. This is a great coffee table book for anyone who likes sports, but I'm giving it specifically to all my friends who are die hard Michelle-fanatics (you know who you are). ...

Michelle Kwan Says Door is Open to Competing at 2010 Olympics By Nicole Cunningham http://www.ifsmagazine.com/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1879 Two-time Olympic medalist and five-time World champion Michelle Kwan said she “hasn’t closed any doors” on competing at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Kwan, in Beijing fulfilling her duties as a public diplomacy envoy for the U.S. State Department, appeared live on NBC ’s "Today" show Aug. 20, where host Ann Curry pressed Kwan about her plans for a fourth trip to the Olympics. President Bush selected Kwan to be part of America’s delegation to the closing ceremony, a delegation headed up by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice . In 1998, Kwan took silver in Nagano, in 2002 she took bronze in Salt Lake City, and in 2006, she had to withdraw from the Olympics in Torino due to injury. She would be 29 if she competed in the 2010 Olympics. “After watching Michael Phelps , beach volleyball, Nastia [ Liukin ], I’m inspired,” said Kwan. “Vancouver is a year and a half away. You have to have heart, soul and mind to be in the Olympics. I’ve left all doors open. I haven’t closed any doors.” Kwan said she is training while attending the University of Denver studying International Relations. Down the road she said she would like to attend graduate school.
