My thoughts so far-- Method 1 (Hard): There are loads of people on the youtube forum who have successfully done Delaunay triangulations on the data. If I could do the same and get an OBJ sequence i could use in Maya, that would be amazing. There is a great program called qHull that does just this, but seems to require a science degree to understand. I found a mel script but couldnt get any meaningful results: http://researchnodes.org/doku.php?id=examples:qhull:start and qHulls home http://www.qhull.org/ Method 2 (easier): My next thought was meshing it in Realflow. This would either require writing filein importer for Realflow that converts each point to a particle, or a Maya equvilent (ive got a script to export Maya particles to realflow). But after the development of softimage ICE system, 3dsmax fume fx, afterburn they reallly hit the chart. Maya have to grow now. Interms of Particle, Hope it has particle flow bluit in 2009. And also the strong fluid simulation solution like fume fx have. and volume shader for particles like afterburn handles. For doing anything especial I have to write a expression, what a hec man. We are no programmers. We need the tool, that goes very easy. Frankly speaking, I love max particles, and ofcourse sitni sati fume fx. I have give up Maya particles and it's fluid simulation system. for doing a huge simulation Maya container makes my computer very hard to handle, that's what fume fx handles very easily.
