Mark Millar ( Wanted ) talked to G4 about his proposed Superman movie project which has a mysterious American director attached. They pitched the idea to Warner Bros. Mark Millar delivers two doses of slice-and-dice mayhem to our comic-craving craniums this week and they're both stupid good. Onward. (Hey, haven't said that in awhile.) • "Kick-Ass" No. 4 OK, Hit-Girl may be the coolest, sickest costumed kid to come along in comics in a long time. A mortified Dave Lizewski describes the limb-chopping little girl just the way John Romita Jr. so lovingly draws her. So, yes, you really do get "John Rambo meets Polly Pocket" and "Dakota Fanning crossed with 'Death Wish 4.'" And the mouth on her... Millar and Romita Jr. are having so much sadistic fun on this book it's downright criminal. I can't imagine how "Kick-Ass" will look as a movie , but here's hoping it's just as bloody good on the big screen as it is in print. • "Wolverine" No. 68 The cover says it all: Logan and Hawkeye meet the new Kingpin. Which means it sucks to be the new Kingpin, right? But isn't Logan a pacifist in this story? And how does he and a blind Hawkeye step up against a Kingpin who killed Magneto? I don't want to say more because, like the latest "Kick-Ass" ish, this is a visceral book that must be seen in all its gonzo glory to be appreciated, especially when you have such glorious art by Steve McNiven. Unpredictable, unpretentious and unhinged are the hallmarks of any quality Millar comic. And, boy, do you get those hallmarks with "Old Man Logan." Solid stuff. — Ren&eacute A. Guzman ...

I have to admit, I had a lot of apprehensions about the movie version of Mark Millar’s “Wanted”, even more so when I heard they had veered nearly completely away from the original comic book. But then I saw the movie, and kinda liked it. It wasn’t great, mind you, but if you went into [...] ...

It's no coincidence that both Mark Millar and Superman have both been in the news quite a bit recently. This is the second time I've mentioned Mark Millar today (the other in an article about Wanted sequels), and Superman has been in the news quite a bit for the past few months. Another update today has arrived courtesy of a G4TV interview with Millar, who reveals more about his plans for the Superman trilogy. And if we connect the dots, it really, truly sounds like Millar's version is what we may see Warner Brothers greenlight sometime later this year. In August, the studio said it was a priority for them to figure out what to do with the DC character - now we might finally have a great solution. Millar explains that "a director approached me about three months ago" and said to him that Bryan Singer's "Man Of Steel might ... ...

Wanted was one of my favourite movies of the summer, just being pipped to the title by The Dark Knight. So I was pleased when it emerged in July that the film was going to spawn at least one, and maybe even two sequels. The trilogy is now definite, with work on the screenplay for [...] ...

In the wake of the disappointment of Superman Returns , Warner Bros. has had to rethink its Superman franchise. However if Mark Miller has his way, the Superman franchise may very well have nothing to fear, not even Kryptonite. Mark Miller, the award-winning Scottish graphic novelist most famous for The Ultimates , Wanted , and the current arc of Wolverine , was interviewed by G4 recently, and revealed the possibility that he could be involved with a reboot of the Superman franchise. In addition to revealing that the movie adaptation of his comic Kick-Ass is going to be done with $70 million, rather than the measly $30 million previously reported, Miller referred to a close and very famous director that has asked him, if WB agrees, to join him on a Superman project. Miller is definitely not new to the Superman world, being completely obsessed (apparently he owns the stuffed white cat that Superman saved in one of the movies… ?) with the DC powerhouse. Not surprisingly then, Miller revealed that he has a Lord of the Rings -style epic in mind... ...
