I downloaded Microsoft Word viewer after using up my trail for Microsoft Office. Now whenever I click on a document online, Word asks for my product key, and when I don't enter it, shuts down. MS Word and Outlook are full of gremlins and boogers. I am a pilgrim at his so I'll explain as best I can. I'm using a new Dell Latitude D830 laptop, and, newly installed MS Office Standard 2007 upgrade. I have never before used a laptop. Also, I am using gmail for my ISP and use Outlook for viewing. When in Word or Outlook (and I just discovered, even in this writing) my cursor seem to have a random mind of it's own. I'm typing along and - suddenly - the cursor jumps backward 2-3-4 spaces, words, lines or paragraphs and whatever I'm typing at the moment is inserted right into the middle of something previously typed. It is making me CRAZY! No, I do not receive any kind of error mssg when this happens. ALSO . . . every time, when sending or receiving mail I get a processing window that shows a task of, 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for gmail . . .' I don't know what that is/means because I have 'subscribed' - to nothing! And I sure wish I could disable/turn off this task. It sometimes takes 30-40 seconds to complete this task (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) and until this task is completed the system will not show rec'd mail. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Pilgrim ...

Thanks, Russ! Package including OneCare would cost $200 to buy the traditional way Jessica Mintz, Associated Press (07-07) 04:00 PDT Seattle -- Microsoft Corp. will begin selling its Office programs to consumers on a subscription basis starting in mid-July, in a bid to reach thrifty PC buyers who would otherwise pass on productivity software. The move may also set the stage for Microsoft to offer its consumer-oriented programs as services over the Web, by acclimating people to the new pricing model such a shift could require. The software bundle, which also includes Microsoft's Live OneCare computer security software, will be sold at nearly 700 Circuit City stores for $70 per year. ...

Microsoft Equipt: MS Office through Subscription! Microsoft has announced that they are soon going to launch Microsoft Equipt subscription based product suite to provide MS Office functionality to home users. This new app would join their existing applications like Windows Live Mail, Messenger, OneCare and Photo Gallery. The software giant said that Equipt would go on sale from July 15. It would include Live OneCare and Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. It would cost $69.99 for a one year subscription that would work on three PCs. Gartner Client Services Vice President Michael Silver spoke about this new offering from Microsoft: “Larger small businesses already have offerings like this through Microsoft’s open-licensing program, but the pricing and licensing is more commensurate with prices businesses pay. Small businesses can probably expect something like this suited to them in the future, but may have difficulty buying this version in particular because it does not contain Outlook.” Checkout: Microsoft Equipt ...
