All things considered, Sean Morris would rather be in Boston than Chicago. That’s no disrespect to the Windy City, but the Marshfield product is just enjoying life as a professional lacrosse player a whole lot more with the Boston Cannons. He may be scoring less, but that’s no problem. And on Saturday, when the Cannons host Marshfield Night, with the under-13 town tournament league team from Marshfield taking on their counterparts from Beverly prior to the Cannons game against the Long Island Lizards, Morris will really feel at home. Morris played two seasons with the Chicago Machine in Major League Lacrosse. While he was the squad’s second-leading scorer with 39 points, he became weary of traveling halfway across the country every weekend, and requested a trade after last season. He had not yet suited up for Chicago this year, when a Draft day trade brought him to Boston on May 28. The Cannons acquired an extra first-round pick earlier in the day, when they unloaded upstate New York native Brett Bucktooth – who also wanted to play closer to home – to Rochester. That pick was then shipped to Chicago for Morris. Morris’ debut for Boston at Long Island on May 31 was auspicious to say the least, as he scored eight points on two goals and six assists in a 20-19 loss.
