Several friends have confirmed what I heard during the MEMORIAL list announced during the Yankees Old Timers DAY -- the name of Bill White.  I have not heard of the former Yankee announcer and NL President passing away and wonder if anyone else heard the name announced and may know who it referenced if not the same Bill White we knew?  If he had passed away, I think some stories would have been written about the loss of Scooter, Bobby Ray and Bill White all in the same year.  Also, does anyone think that they should have done more in Bobby Ray's memory? ...

The 19th Annual Deary MEMORIAL Five-Mile Race and Walk will be held Saturday at J.D. Cooper’s Restaurant on Park Road. The event, begun in 1989, has raised more than $685,000 for cancer assistance. This year’s race will be in memory of Linda Ann Allard DeMarco, a former DAY Kimball Hospital employee. The early walk portion is scheduled for 6 a.m.  The Fun Walk will start at 8 a.m., and the 5-mile race will begin at 9:05 a.m. Entry fee is $25.
