You know Lykke Li , you know Bon Iver , and hey, isn't that great, now they know each other. The Swedish singer strikes a Stevie Nicks-like pose as she often does, this time with top hat , rattling a chain and bouncing around as she goofily implores us to do the same on " Dance Dance Dance ", one of the funnest songs on her Youth Novels . Bon Iver's Justin Vernon sends out his high, clear voice in harmony as he and his bandmates provide some acoustic accompaniment with accordion and whatever percussion comes to hand. When I woke up this morning, my ears were tingling with anticipation knowing that Ryan was going to serve up another yummy track to obsess over! Once again, the boy doesn't disappoint! Well, last week I experienced an intimate concert that has changed the way I look at music for the rest of my life. For a while, I've had doubts about the future - where can we go with sounds, melodies and beats that have otherwise been recycled since the first note was sang? Sure, every now and then a killer track will melt away from the hard wax-core of an already burned musical candle, but I have never been so amazed by an artist in person, that it will bring me to completely rant on their musical styling without the need of a specific track for comparison. This artist doesn’t need one track that sticks out, she does that all by herself. Introducing Sweden’s very own Lykke Li . Her music is chock-full of ideas about moving on and breaking free. Just 18 months ago, she was complaining to her mentor, Bjorn “of Peter and John fame” Yttling, that everything had gone wrong because she was 20 and still hadn’t released an album. I know, when I was 20 the only thing I was worried about was if I had class on Friday, or if I could go out drinking Thursday night (Sad, so sad.)
