Former longtime City Council member Robert Moore, who played a key role in establishing the Government-based Lake-Sumter Emergency Medical Services, died late Wednesday after he was transported to Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, officials said Thursday. A Tavares native, Moore was active in Local affairs for more than two decades after he was first elected to the council in 1982. "He had a lot of vision for the city," said Dottie Keedy, Lake County director of economic growth and redevelopment and a former Tavares city administrator.
