Unlike millions and millions of Americans, I'm not a huge Dancing with the Stars fan. In fact, I'm not a fan at all (unlike my dad). I've only watched a few minutes here and there. I can't believe another season is on air so soon after Kristi Yamaguchi won her title. And it's on three times this week! I work while some of the dancing will be on, so I can't recount every episode. But I will try to keep the blog updated with what's happening. Maybe the show will grow on me. Here's a quick recap of last night's dancing, along with what judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli thought about it. Hannah Montana actor Cody Linley and Julianne Hough dance the cha cha cha. They're the youngest team ever on the show. I think it's pretty good (lots of energy), but there are a few awkward moments and Cody has a weird smile on his face for most of the dance. Their score: 18. Chef Rocco DiSpiritio and Karina Smirnoff dance the foxtrot. Karina is dancing with a sprain. It's so-so. His feet seemed to be a bit of a mess. Bruno says it was a foxtrot on the brink of chaos. Score: 14. Singer Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo (Season 1 champ) dance the cha cha cha. (Toni has microvascular angina, by the way. It's a type of heart disease.) She looks great. She is much improved from the practice clips, and the judges agree. They think it's awesome for a Week 1 performance. Score: 22. Those influences are what led the skater to begin the Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family Ice Show four years ago. After Kristi's oldest daughter Keara Kiyomi , 5, was born, the 37-year-old realized that "All of us skaters, we were friends growing up together, competing against each other, touring together, then we all had families and drifted apart." So beginning what Kristi calls "a celebration of family," the show gives everyone "a chance to reconnect and skate together" but is "also a chance for our children to make friends and get to know each other." The show is also an opportunity for Kristi to skate with Keara, who will be performing with her mom during the event for the first time. Keara and her younger sister Emma Yoshiko , 2 ½, have been "on ice since they could walk" and are "skating recreationally right now" and "having fun." Not only have they earned their skating skills from their mom, but also their dad, professional hockey player Bret Hedican . Despite having two parents who skate in some capacity professionally, the couple are "really exposing them to everything -- soccer, tennis, music" so that their daughters can choose what they enjoy. The figure skater was crowned Dancing With the Stars champion last night, after beating out professional football player Jason Taylor for the top spot. Yamaguchi danced the cha-cha, a freestyle routine and the jive during the two-day finale. She made history by scoring perfect tens from the judges for all three of her final performances. Jessica Alba and Cash Warren tied the knot on Monday. That's according to People magazine. The pair reportedly wed in the ceremony room at the Beverly Hills courthouse, wearing casual clothes. Thieves made off with passports, diaries, photos, music collections and thousands of dollars worth of electronics gear on Saturday in Roseville, Minnesota, according to local station KSTP-TV. The van was parked outside an Outback Steak House while the group – in town for a cancer benefit — dined inside. "I feel so bad," Yamaguchi said.
