We all do things for weird reason. Basically the only reason I check out movies starring the dude from The Notebook is because I have been told by multiple people that I look like the dude from The Notebook (full discloser: I do not think I look like the dude from The Notebook ). Ironically one of the few movies of his I have never seen starring the dude from The Notebook is The Notebook . If there is one thing the dude from The Notebook likes it to take roles that will push him as an actor. And there is really no way to push yourself more as an actor it to have your leading lady be inanimate object like in Lars and the Real Girl . Lars is your typical movie introvert, living in the garage of his family’s home; that is until he orders a living doll “introduces” her to his brother and his wife. Naturally they are concerned and take him to the local shrink who suggests that they go along with it and he may eventually grow out of the delusion. Of course he may not. And naturally the town folks are a little weary that one of their residents taking Bianca to church and other town functions. This is especially heartbreaking to Lars’ co worker Kelli Garner ( Man of the House ) who was quite smitten with him despite him running around whenever he sees her. Its been on my "to do list", but I have been so busy that I simply have forgotten about it. The film itself has been very limited in terms of release. Hardly any theaters around my place carried this film. Its one of those low budget films that not everyone sees when its released in theaters, but they end up discovering it when its released on DVD. Its a shame that this film hasn't been getting the much attention it deserves. I decided to check it out since its been getting very great reviews. Plot Outline : Lars Lindstrom (Ryan Gosling) becomes so lonely in his own little world that under a delusion he orders a high-priced sex doll. The only problem is that she's not real - she's a sex doll Lars ordered off the Internet. But sex is not what Lars has in mind, but rather a deep, meaningful relationship. Summer Highlights part I We have been having so much fun this summer. We took an awesome trip to Utah and it didn't last long enough. The best part was seeing my little brother for the first time in two years and going to his mission homecoming. He loved Brazil and he was a great missionary. Here are some of the other things that we enjoyed: Here we are at the Lavender Fest. Aren't the Mountains beautiful? I miss them so much. My sister Stephanie always knows what fun things there are to do. In the picture from left to right is Stephanie holding creed, Larry, my Dad, Eli, my Mom, me holding Logan, and then Mike. The Lavender fields were not yet in full bloom due to a late spring but it was still fun. Doesn't Logan look like he is enjoying this? More Lavender Fest... One of the best parts of coming home is being able to see my best friends (Laurel, why didn't I get any pictures on my camera with you?). This is Kelli and her baby Felicity. Logan got to bond with family and met his Uncle Eli for the first time. Here is part of the Garner Clan. One afternoon we went to the American Fork Pool.
