As a follower of Jesus for over three decades, I have seen many seasons of the exposure of sin and revealing of broken lives in the Church at large.  But, never have I seen like today, especially among high profile leaders.   Bob Jones, Ted Haggard, Randy and Paula White, Juanita Bynum, Terry MacAlmon, and most recently, Todd Bentley of the Lakeland Outpouring.  Sexual infidelity.  Love of money.  Pride of place.  Aberrant doctrines. Hierarchical control.  Spousal abuse.  Drunkenness.  When will it all end?...well...It won't this side of heaven.   We will always have the yeast of sin in the camp because it is populated with broken people.   But God still calls us on toward holiness. Here is how I choose to respond: 1.  I am no one's judge.  There is only ONE JUDGE and He will judge each of us.  My response:  Love.  Sometimes tough love, but always love. 2.  I'll take the prophet Joel's advice in chapter 2 verses 12-13: 12 "Even now," declares the LORD,        "return to me with all your heart,        with fasting and weeping and mourning."   13 Rend your heart ( inward disposition )        and not your garments. ( not outward display )        Return to the LORD your God,        for he is gracious and compassionate,        slow to anger and abounding in love,        and he relents from sending calamity. ATLANTA (AP) - Lawyers for the ex-husband of Juanita Bynum are suing the televangelist, claiming that she has not paid the first installment of a $40,000 legal bill to his divorce attorney. Bynum agreed to pay the bill in four $10,000 installments as part of a settlement agreement reached between her and Thomas Weeks III. The first installment was due July and the next is due August 8th. Randy Kessler, Weeks’ attorney, filed a motion in a suburban Atlanta court to find Bynum in contempt. Bynum also has failed to transfer the title of a 2004 Land Rover to Weeks, another condition of the agreement, according to the motion. Bynum filed for divorce in September, after she accused Weeks of choking and beating her in a hotel parking lot. The couple ended their five-year marriage on June 20th. Are you kidding me? We aren't done with these people yet? I thought it was weird that the high traffic on the blog was people searching for the latest on Bynum. Lord, please have mercy. Pay that dog on bill. But wait! Australian Michael Guglielmucci’s story is an interesting case of the dangerous place that “Christian celebrity” can lead.  My friends in Australia tell me that he apparently hoodwinked the entire Christian community there, by lying about having terminal cancer for 2 ½ years.  No one knew - not even his wife.  His father’s a pastor from one of the larger Churches in the country, and he’s a leader there.  It’s a huge story among churches in the country.  His cancer story had a big run in the Adelaide paper (where his father’s church is) and ran on one national TV program and apparently thousands were praying for his healing.  As you’ll see in this video clip, he even appeared on the stage with what they now know was fake oxygen tubes.  Now, I’m told there might be criminal charges that he could face for fraud.  Watch the story.  The question becomes, “How far will some ministry leaders go to stay in the limelight?” I’ve written before about Juanita Bynum’s appearance on “Divorce Court” and her Youtube videos posted about her altercation with her former Bishop husband.  What happens when pastors and  ministry leaders get addicted to the attention? ...

This is what I'm reading now. It's amazing. I can't believe how much I'm learning. She takes you through the pattern of the tabernacle in the old testament and teaches how the Lord required the priests to come to the ark of the covenant in prayer and applies it to us today. Here is a outline if that is what you would call it and it doesn't compare to the book. Most of this I've taken directly from the book, some I have reworded. Its been such a deep learning experience. I wish I had the talent to share it properly. I will say that if you have struggled with your prayer life, felt like you have hit a wall or that the Lord isn't hearing you, that you are running out of things to say or that the Lord is calling you into a deeper prayer life, one of intercessing this book is a must read. Where two or more are gathered in My name there I will be also. Join me in prayer, find the threshing floor. There is an entry on the east gate, this gate you enter when you receive Jesus as your personal Savior. You enter the gate with thanksgiving and praise for the Lord has sent His only Son and His son has came willingly to die for you and for me.
