The game pits North Carolina's top 44 seniors against those from South Carolina, and will be at 1 p.m. Dec.20 at Wofford's Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg. Proceeds will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children. Linebacker Hawatha Bell and defensive back Marcell Sargent will represent Butler (9-0), which is ranked No. 2 in the N.C. 4A poll. Bell has 77 tackles, four forced fumbles and an interception. Sargent has 31 tackles, four blocked kicks, an interception and four pass deflections. Charlotte's other defenders picked were South Mecklenburg linebacker Spencer Shuey, Mallard Creek cornerback Joshua Hunter and West Charlotte linebacker Brandon Grier. For the first time since 2001, state power Independence didn't have a player picked. The Patriots have been to eight straight 4A title games, and won seven. Four players from York County were picked for South Carolina's team: Rock Hill South Pointe's Stephon Gilmore (quarterback) and Antwan Roseboro (linebacker), Rock Hill Northwestern receiver Jarrett Nealy and Rock Hill receiver Asa Watson.
