The premiere of "Pineapple Express" brought out Hollywood's scruffiest -- Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jack Black, etc. In essence, it looked like a John Belushi convention until dapper Daniel Craig showed up and stole the show. Winner: Seth Rogen, who probably last wore a belt and shirt with buttons at his bar mitzvah. (You can just imagine him mistaking a crease in his suit pants for a giant wrinkle.) He also managed to wrestle a tie into submission and trim a few wayward goatee hairs. Kudos to Rogen for leaving his "Grab a Heinie" T-shirt at home and stepping up to the sartorial plate. He looks great. Loser: Daniel Craig, for ignoring the memo that read, "We're going to let Seth shine tonight, guys. So wear a T-shirt, dirty jeans and don't shave." Rainn Wilson joins the growing list of actors spawned from the Jerry Lewis school of acting. Like Jack Black, Adam Sandler and so many other young movie stars, Wilson will more often turn to a goofy face, a pratfall or a never ending string of ad libs in an effort to pull a laugh out of unfunny material. He's in full Jerry Lewis mode for "The Rocker." Wilson plays Fish, a drummer for a 1980s heavy metal band Vesuvius. Just as the band reaches Whitesnake notoriety, Fish gets the boot. Fish spends the next 20 years on the bottom rung of the corporate ladder. He has allowed his hatred for his old band ruin every job and relationship he has ever had. Just as Fish hits the bottom, he is asked by his nerdish nephew (Josh Gad, a Jonah Hill wannabe) to fill in as drummer for his garage band. The band has been hired to play at his school's prom. The band seems doomed to the lone gig until a revealing video of a rehearsal hits the Internet. A million hits later and record labels are calling. It wasn't just the usual crew of Apatow boys at last night's LA premiere of Pineapple Express . Established and legendary Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy came out to support the younger crew of funny kids while fashion icon (and seriously loving it! ) Kanye West also made his way to the screening. Of course, the stars of the movies themselves James Franco and Seth Rogen, meandered down the red carpet all cleaned up, handsome and fancy looking. This high (heh) comedy brings the laughs when it hits theaters next Wednesday. Two of my favourite Freaks And Geeks – James Franco and Seth Rogen – premiered their new movie Pineapple Express in the US yesterday. Just in case my title confused you, Pineapple Express is not a train, in the movie it refers to a rare new strain of weed that the stoner and his dealer (Franco and Rogen) drop when they witness a murder – unfortunately it's so rare it can easily be traced back to them, so they go on the run. I can't wait to see this movie, and neither could the whole host of stars that showed up to the LA premiere including Jim Carrey, Kanye West, Daniel Craig, Emma Stone, Alicia Silverstone and many more. But what if we told you there were no more Apatow-produced films being released for the rest of the 2008? It's true! According to IMDb , Pineapple Express is the last one until Year One , which won't be out until NEXT JUNE. Luckily, it's impossible to get a comedy green-lit these days unless it features at least one or two former Freaks and Geeks cast members and a story that casts some portly doofus as the romantic opposite of a gorgeous actress. Role Models Release Date: November 14 Featured Apatow acolytes: Paul Rudd, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Elizabeth Banks, Jane Lynch, Ken Jeong. Apatovian plot: Rudd and Seann William Scott play man-children repping for an energy-drink company. After damaging public property, they're sentenced to community service, acting as Big Brothers to McLovin and a wisecracking black child. Paul Rudd grows up and scores with Elizabeth Banks. How Judd Apatow could've made it funnier: Apatovian convention dictates that Paul Rudd's rugged handsomeness must be offset by the fatness of a schlubby sidekick.
