From NBC/NJ's Carrie Dann MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Ron Paul supporters may have found a new champion. In boisterous remarks at today's Rally for the Republic, former Minnesota governor and professional wrestling personality Jesse Ventura suggested that he is open to a presidential run in 2012 if enthusiasm for "The Revolution" stays strong. "If I see it over the next two to three years," thundered Ventura at the conclusion of a speech to several thousand Ron Paul supporters in the Target Center in Minneapolis. "If I see it start to rise up and if this country shows me that it's worth it for me, then maybe in 2012… ." ...( read more ) ...

Jesse Ventura became Governor of Minnesota as a candidate of the Reform Party. Since leaving office he has continued to call for opposing the two-party system. This transcript is from an interview he did with Larry King. Read the entire transcript here : Ventura: I wrote the book because I was down there and I met the writer Dick Russell a few years ago. And he lives down there part- time, too. And we would get together every Wednesday. And we wrote the book together. And I wrote the book, hopefully, to awaken America, the United States, to what I believe we need a revolution here. KING: What kind of revolution? Ventura: Well, when I say revolution, I don't say a violent one, because I'm not for violence. But we need a revolution to get rid of the Democratic and Republican two-party dictatorship that goes on in this country. Larry, they've got us $9 trillion in debt now, these two parties. Trillion. I can't fathom what a trillion is. Can you? KING: But the Clinton Democratic Party had you in the plus side? They didn't have you in debt. Not all parties all the time have gotten you in debt. Ventura: They weren't out of debt. They just stopped the debt where it was at for a little while. The debt was still there. KING: Well, what do you want to do? Ventura: You can't get $9 trillion in -- we've -- since Nixon took us off the gold standard in the early '70s, $9 trillion. So if we -- if there's 300 million Americans right now, that means we ...

Filed under: Industry , Programming , Daytime , Celebrities , Reality-Free As I type this, there are 11 court shows currently in first-run syndication, with Judge Judy leading the pack. These shows have become one of the more stable franchises for stations across America, as original programming has made way for pre-packaged fare. With the market seemingly saturated by the amount of court shows, you would think that the studios would be holding off in producing any new series. Hello! It's television -- the obese glutton of the media world! Four new series are being worked on right now. Three of these will make their first appearances as the fall season officially begins in a few short weeks. The fourth may not appear until 2009. However, when it does, it may push Judge Judy out of the top spot its held for several years. According to TV Week , former Minnesota governor and pro-wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura is currently in negotiations to host a court show aimed at the daytime television audience. Should the negotiations work out, Jesse could be presiding over some type of court cases by the fall of next year. You remember the Arnold Schwarzenegger semi-classic Predator ? It gave us the great line from Jesse Ventura's mercenary character, Blain: "Ain't got time to bleed." Now, 21 years later, Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp offers his own take on the sentiment, as shown over at Hornfans.com . He cut himself near the left temple in the Florida Atlantic game, apparently after ripping off his headset or maybe in the rebound from hitting a wipe board. "He acted like he didn't care," defensive end Brian Orakpo said. "I thought he would have licked it or something." Muschamp didn't say much about the cut, but offered a Blain-esque quote about playing UTEP at 9:15 Saturday night. "Doesn't matter where we play, who we play or what time we play, the Texas defense is going to show up and play," Muschamp said. ...

It always comes down to this one, doesn't it? Leftists and fringe politicos calling Republicans "Nazis." Well, the "N" word was once again unleashed against John McCain's Republican Convention on September 2 during CNN's Larry King Live show. Actor D.L. Hughley and Independent former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura both went for that shopworn epithet as King discussed the Convention. Along with Hughley and Ventura, King had on former Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers who claimed that Republicans were saying with their convention theme that “only Republicans put their country first” ridiculously saying that Independents shouldn't vote for the GOP because they are insulted so much. "I don't understand why any independent or Democrat would consider voting for the McCain/Palin ticket," Myers partisanly intoned, "after being called all night that only Republicans put their country first." Only a true sell out, though, would see it that way. Certainly the convention was cheerleading for its own members and saying that Republicans do, indeed, put their country first. But no one was saying that no one else does. Still, isn't this what conventions are for? To cheerlead and buck up the troops? And tell me, Dee Dee, why should anyone outside the Democrat Party go over to their side of the aisle after the Democrats so monotonously claim that only they care about people? Isn't that just as insulting? Anyway, that partisan foolishness a ...

The Ron Paul-a-palooza in Minneapolis proceeds apace. Jesse "The Body" Ventura has just finished an incredible stem-winder in which he favored Mexican immigrants; attacked Dems and Reps; questioned why Osama Bin Laden hasn't been charged with anything in relation to the 9/11 attacks; and threatened to maybe run for office in 2012 if and only if (and maybe) if the Ron Paul movement showed him something this time around. This is some event—earlier presences included an off-key military warbler working his way through the worst rendition of the National Anthem since Leslie Neilsen as Enrico Pallazo , Americans for Tax Reform's Grover Norquist, and the president of the John Birch Society. Stream it live at C-SPAN . What say you, Hit & Runners? reason on Ron Paul . ...

Jesse Ventura's not quite gone from the political stage. Ventura will speak at Ron Paul's big (perhaps) "Rally for the Republic'' event at the Target Center on Sept. 2, the second day of the Republican Convention. Ron Paul 's history of race-baiting has been well-documented . So it was fascinating just a few minutes ago here at the Paul "Rally for Liberty" in Minneapolis to hear Jesse Ventura , who received a rapturous welcome, defend immigrants, and oppose Paul's position in favor of building a wall along the U.S./Mexico border. "I've been living in Mexico," Ventura said. "I live with those brown-skinned people that we’re so scared of that we’re going to build walls and barbed wires and turn my country into East Berlin." A heckler shouted, "You’re wrong!" A few dozen people tentatively applauded. Ventura continued, "To me, when I look at the United States being turned into East Berlin, it is not the country that I served when I was in the military." Pretty typical of the lack of ideological coherence among Paul supporters. -- Dana Goldstein ...
