Jeff Gordon, NO. 24 DUPONT/PEPSI IMPALA SS -- Qualified 3rd: TELL US ABOUT YOUR LAP: "Oh, man, what a lap. We struggled a little bit today. We just couldn't get the speed out of the car and we were a little frustrated with practice because obviously having Pepsi onboard for the Pepsi 500 is a big deal. But we ran so well here earlier in the year and we feel like we've made gains since then and we're shaking our heads a little bit. We made some adjustments. I thought Steve Letarte made some great calls. We sat up in the trailer and debriefed after ... ... Source: www.motorsport.com --- 14 days ago
Jeff Gordon, DRIVER OF THE NO. 24 DUPONT IMPALA SS, met with members of the media at Bristol Motor Speedway and discussed whether drivers are athletes, how he approached the final races before the Chase, next year's schedule and much more. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT DRIVERS HAVING PEOPLE PULL AGAINST THEM? "To me, what makes this sport what it is, is the fans avidness whether it's for or against. It's that they're so interested in what's going on that they know all that they know about the teams, the drivers, the races and that they form an opinion. ... ... Jeff Gordon, NO. 24 DUPONT IMPALA SS: "It was pretty good. Any time you come here to Bristol and you improve your practice time, it is usually a good day. The track temperature went up, so the track was pretty slick. I don't think anybody was going to touch Carl (Edwards), that was one heck of a lap he put up there. All the things we were fighting in practice, we adjusted on. The DuPont Chevrolet team did a great job with that. To make our lap perfect, I probably got just a little bit greedy on the throttle down in three and four. The car rotated ... ... Source: www.motorsport.com --- 24 days ago
PERFORMANCE AT MIS COULD STRENGTHEN Gordon'S CHASE CHANCES BROOKLYN, Mich. (August 12, 2008) - Despite only two top-10 finishes in the last six races, Jeff Gordon has remained sixth in the point standings and only "lost" three points during that stretch. With only four races remaining before the 12-driver field is set for the "Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup," Gordon and Team DuPont are aware that better results are needed heading into Sunday's 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Gordon moved into sixth following the Infineon race in June, and he held a 151-point ... ... Source: www.motorsport.com --- 3 hours ago
Jeff Gordon, NO. 24 DUPONT / NICORETTE IMPALA SS met with media and discussed racing at Richmond, the rainy weather, his performance leading into the Chase, Kyle Busch, and more. Q. We're pleased to be joined in the infield media center by Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Nicorette Chevrolet this weekend. Jeff currently 10th in points and right on the verge of getting that spot, coveted spot, clinching a spot in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. He's got two wins here at Richmond, 12 top 5s, 19 top 10s, he's sat ... ... Source: www.motorsport.com --- 3 hours ago
Continued from part 1 Q. You hear drivers talk about how I wasn't ready to win a championship those early years of a career. Jimmie said it before, too. Is Kyle Busch ready to win one, and why? Jeff Gordon: Well, I will say this: I think Carl is more ready than Kyle. I think Kyle has -- he has the ability to go really hard, really fast, and he's made big improvements in my opinion this year over last year. Last year when he drove for us, there wasn't a single practice ... ... Source: www.paddocktalk.com --- 36 days ago

While fans of the No. 24 Dupont Chevrolet team are still mulling over the disastrous results at Watkins Glen, Jeff Gordon's focus seems to be elsewhere. From radio troubles to an ill-handling car, Gordon and Letarte could not get the car dialed in at The Glen this past weekend. Gordon barely slid past the big wreck and finished in an abysmal 29th position. So, with that kind of race behind you, some may think that Gordon would be fired up and ready to get back on the track. And he was, sort of. First, he and his team were able to squeeze in some testing. They have struggled as of late with the bigger speedways, like the one they are facing this week at Michigan. So, a two-day test was just the ticket to hopefully iron out the kinks. Gordon was also focused on tasting...wine tasting that is. He launched his brand new Web site on fine wines, featuring a 2006 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and a 2006 Carneros Chardonnay. But Gordon's biggest focus was on daughter Ella, who just happened to start teething this week. Big-daddy Jeff acknowledged that she was pretty miserable, having pain, swelling of her gums, and trouble sleeping. So, like a typical first-time father, he was focused on what she, and consequently Ingrid and he, were going through with their baby girl. While fans commend Jeff for his focus on family (check out Jeff Gordon's Web site for pictures of Ella's first-birthday party) and may even understand that he has other busi ...
