There's really no other way to say it. Here's what Fisher said on FOX sports radio earlier today: "Success in the National Football League deals directly with your ability to deal with distractions. And you have to deal with them when they come up. Vince had a hard go, he had a hard day at the office on Sunday, and threw a couple picks. He's different than, I think, most other players. "You internalize the mistakes. When negative things happen you deal with them and you put them behind you. [But] Vince wears it on his sleeve. And that's something that he needs to work on, and he'll get corrected. Then he had the compound thing with the knee. He's never been hurt and now he's got the knee thing. "...I don't think his mother's comments helped him very much yesterday, but that's a concerned mom. He's a good teammate. His teammates, they trust him, they're gonna help him get through this. We gotta get his knee right and then we'll get him back. In the meantime we're gonna move on. Not move on from Vince, but move on to the upcoming opponent." --Jean-Jacques Taylor ... Filed under: Titans , AFC South , NFL Fans , NFL Coaching Vince Young 's had a busy week. He started the Titans season opener against the Jaguars, played poorly, threw a couple picks, strained an MCL , got booed, supposedly threatened to retire/kill himself (not necessarily in that order), had his employer call the cops as a result , and spent the last few days refuting much of the speculation. ESPN's Chris Mortensen spoke with Titans head coach Jeff Fisher about all this, and here's what we know (well, through Mortensen's eyes, anyhow): Young isn't guaranteed his job when he returns from the knee injury, and pretty much everything we read this week about the circumstances surrounding the Titans quarterback as he left the stadium following Sunday's game are false. Apparently, much of the police report is wrong, thanks to Mike Mu, Young's local marketing manager. Mu called the team therapist, Sheila Peters (Young doesn't have a personal therapist), saying that Young had left his home without his cell phone, "threatening to quit and was speeding down the interstate with a gun in his car after talking about suicide." Reports had previously stated that Peters had spoken to Young, which wasn't the case. Upon hearing this news from Peters, Fisher "did what anybody would do" and called the cops . "So when Vince finally got home later that night, he called me and said, 'What's up?' I told him he had to come down to the facility to meet w ... Source: www.musiccitymiracles.com --- 27 days ago
Well just when we thought this was over, The City Paper has released the Metro Police "matter of record" from the incident Monday night. Here is what it says about Monday: The report from Central Precinct Lt. Andrea Swisher states Titans' head of security Steve Burke notified police that he had “a player over at the stadium going off.” “Sgt. Windus later advised me that it was Vince Young and that he was driving a black Mercedes and armed with a gun,” Swisher’s report states. This is just scary stuff. I hate to keep talking about this but more stuff just keeps coming out. Here is what Swisher mentioned from her conversation with Coach Fisher: “I asked him (Fisher), ‘What made her worry about him?’ He stated, ‘His mood, his emotions, he is injured, he wants to quit, and he mentioned suicide several times.’ He (Fisher) went on to state that he (Young) left the house with a gun,” Swisher’s report states. Click on the link above to read the rest of the report. It mentions that one of VY's gjys had tried to follow him from his home in Williamson County but could't keep up with him on Interstate 65. Now we can all agree that we cannot believe anything Jeff Fisher says publicly regarding where VY is mentally. He is obviously going to lie to protect VY's interest, which is absolutely what he should do. Vince needs to get help, and I am hoping that the Titans have taken the necessary steps to get him the help he needs. ... Source: cgi.jacksonville.com --- 33 days ago

(On Albert Haynesworth’s status) He’s doing better. When you have the mild concussion symptoms you have to not put him in any situations where he’d be involved in any collisions for a few days, so we’re waiting. But he’s been conditioning inside and he should be fine. (On being as cautious with Albert Haynesworth and they were with Nick Harper when he suffered a concussion) Each case is different. Each case is unique based on our baseline studies so you have to vary it. We do evaluations and we’re constantly evaluating them. (On the impact of Albert Haynesworth on the defense) Obviously, he’s a very important part of our defense and we’re hoping we have him available for Sunday. (On if Albert Haynesworth could convince team doctors he’s ready to play when he may not be) No, that’s not possible. He actually was the other way after the ballgame. The doctors were realistic and very practical, cautious, and for some reason he didn’t remember, at least claimed he didn’t remember much. So we have a protocol that we follow and it’s been working. (On if the team has returned to normal after the events of the past few days) Everything that goes on inside and outside is normal, and it’s been normal. Today was a great practice, I was really proud and it didn’t have anything to do with what happened the last couple days, it had to do with execution and preparation. (On if he anticipates more of a pass rush with Kerry Collins being less mob ... Source: www.musiccitymiracles.com --- 17 days ago
(On the team's success in the red zone) Well, yeah we're 8-8 [overall], 7-1 [touchdowns to field goals]. It's all well and good but we need to get down there more. If I had anything to say along those lines [it would be] we should be in there, after three games, maybe 12-14 times. But the good thing is we're getting points. We're protecting the football for the most part. The other side of the ball is the defense yesterday was exceptional in the red zone. But we're getting down too often, our punter is getting down in the red zone too often. So I'd like to see the offensive opportunities go up and the defensive opportunities go down. (On if the team is veteran enough to handle the 3-0 hype) All you really have to do is put a couple series of Minnesota on tape and that's all. That takes care of itself. Their offense is very explosive obviously with the running back and now the quarterback change. They got the ball down the field and their defense is very, very talented so just put the tape on. We're playing an unfamiliar opponent and that creates all sorts of challenges for us. (On if he can attribute anything to the team's early-season success) I think there's some carryover from last year and that's hard to accomplish. There's some carryover defensively from last year, with the exception of the playoff game, the last few games we were keeping the scoring down and getting off the field and were very productive on third down. (On the heat out at practice) Not hot enough. I believe the forecasts indicate that kickoff [Sunday] will be right about what the temperature was today. But it was good to get back into it because we had a break the past couple weeks. We'll watch it and maybe adjust the next couple days but today was a good day. (On if the game planning was all done today) No, this is a Wednesday install day. We got first and second down in and we're staying on a normal installation week. Wednesday is always a challenge because there's some new concepts that go in here and there, some new adjustments that are made and there may be a mistake on the field. But it's part of the practice week, you work through it. It was good that we had to stay focused through the heat. (On having Albert Haynesworth healthy after he missed last year's game in Nashville ) Well, we've had some difficult times with the Jags with Albert. It's hard to say. You like to think that because of the way he had been playing in that first game that there is certainly a difference. But one person is not going to make the difference in a ball game but having everybody healthy defensively certainly helps. (On Vince Young playing the whole game using the entire playbook) Yeah, he's excited about the plan and there will be things that we carry through until Friday that we'll sit down with him and if he doesn't like them, if he's not comfortable with them, we'll pitch them out. He's go ... Source: www.musiccitymiracles.com --- 9 days ago

Fisher addressed the media Monday afternoon, and as you would expect, most of the questions were about the exchange between him and Vince Young on the sideline. Fisher continues to say it was about VY's hamstring, and I continue to not believe him. Also of note, normally on Mondays the entire team is available to the media. Yesterday he only let a couple of guys, Kevin Mawae and Keith Bulluck I believe, speak to the media. Now I am not 100% sure of the reason, but a conspiracy theorist would say it is because he only wants guys talking that he is sure won't say anything about the sideline exchange that would contradict what Fisher said. A third thing of interest is that Fisher is still not saying anything about VY's MCL. The entire transcript after the jump. (On Vince Young's status) We still don't have any of the test results back. As soon as we get the results back, we'll let you know. I'll have no further comment as far as his physical condition until we get the test results. In the event that he's going to be out for a long length of time, which I think is unlikely, we'll let you know. (On Young's initial knee tests) X-rays were negative. We'll do an MRI just to look at the structure. (On the exchange between him and Vince Young on the sideline) Again, I addressed it yesterday. I addressed it completely yesterday. I'll revisit it again briefly so we can move on. Yesterday we had an issue with hamstring tightness. All kinds ... Source: www.ultimatejaguars.com --- 33 days ago
